The game of basketball has changed. Too bad A&T hasn't adjusted to the times. There was no earthly reason to hire a 60 yr old coach to rebuild our program. We should have assembled a young aggressive staff, that would have been appreciative of the opportunity, instead of getting a MEAC retread. I blame the AD for this one.. This isn't on the a.d. It's on the chancellor. Cy is his homeboy.

Steve Spurrier realized the game had passed him by and stepped down. Is there any chance Cy will come to that realization and step down? That's the only way we will get anything done. I don't think Hilton has the stomach to fire Chancellor Martin's homeboy. So we will be stuck with Cy for a few more seasons of futility.

Maybe we should take Cy's MEAC championship and give it to Eaves, the rightful owner.

Maybe we should take Cy's MEAC championship and give it to Eaves, the rightful owner. ....was this statement really necessary?? After seeing numerous 1st-game exits under Eaves personally, there's no way a statement like that would come out my mouth. Comparing what Cy has done to what Eaves did serves no purpose. When you have 2 ineffective coaches, comparing one or choosing one over another doesn't advance our cause.

We have an extremely strong basketball heritage, but unfortunately it predates most everybody associated with the current program. I think we've stunk for as long as we were great at this point.
I didn't agree with the hiring of Cy, but I get it. He won multiple conference championships at SC Steat. SC Steat does not give a isht about basketball. If anybody could return us to the glory days you'd think it'd be a guy that could win there.
We were wrong it appears.
Bottom line is as much as we like football, we're a basketball school. I believe we'll get it turned around in time because Martin was around when we won all those conference championships in a row. Will it be under Cy? At this point, it's up to Cy. If he doesn't shock the world the rest of this season starting right now then it won't be up to him for long.

I just don't think they are going to dump Cy anytime soon. He's been bad for three seasons and I expect him to stick around for two or three more. Chancellor Martin had to do something about football. ..it's a very expensive sport, has a very large alumni fan base with high visibility. Hell we've been so bad for so long in men's basketball only a few die hard old fans pay any attention. Let's face it...we suck and nobody but us cares. I remember Cal and Corbett but most Aggies today remember Reynolds and Eaves. Not exactly award winning coaches.
If I was a betting man, my money would be on Cy being around at the end of the 2017 season.

I was wiating to see what the more optomistic posters had to say. However,, I have not seen anything positive posted about this win. Perhaps a sign that reality is setting in. The most alarming thin to me since the season began is the TO to FG ratio, virtually 1:1. A good indicator of the LACK of skill to shoot and to handle the ball. This may be the worst loss in history at Corbet, certainly the worst and most embarassing loss in a long time. Even Hunter beat the D3's, I think. ThE group that beat us ON OUR HOME COURT, is a group of non-scholarship players. When NSS posted that we might loose to DC Roanoke College, I thought he might be right, but in reality I thought we'd win in a close game, based on previous game stats. We actually lost! I would like to hear what the more optitimtic followers have to say in explaining why we lost to D2 and now D3 BEFORE THE THREAD IS MOVED TO THE PRIVATE BOARD?

Dang Superstar ease up! Sarcasm intended. Trust me I was not a fan of eaves; however, the point I was trying to make was what has Cy done since winning the championship? I sympathize for the team, not the coach.

I have been talking to my fellow AAU and high school coaches across the state, and none of them have said that they have a working relationship with the current coaching staff. Therein lies part of the problem..In business, you have to have relationships; without them you are doomed to fail. What we are putting on the floor right now is a bad product. Two 5th year seniors who didnt play at all at their former schools, and you expect them to help lead us somewhere? Come on Man ! The juco big gives us nothing. We are basically playing with Division 2 players at the Division 1 level. That model will get us killed ! I'm tired of biting my tongue on this one !

I encourage you to e-mail Hilton to express your concerns (I did already)...
email: hiltone@ncat.edu phone: 336-334-7686
FYI - This is not private contact information. It comes straight from ncataggies.com, where every single Aggie staff member's email and phone number are listed. I don't think it helps to complain on this website (although very justified) without contacting the people who have a say-so in making the changes we desire.
