Holmes should have never been hired in the first place. FAMU just hasn't made good decisions with coaching hires. I don't know how Kellen Winslow will do as their A.D., but he has got to show signs that he gets it. One thing is for sure, many FAMU posters clearly do not get it. I've never seen so many delusional fans in my life. They are letting their pride and ignorance run their football program into the ground. After reading their thoughts on MFZ over these past few years, I have lost a lot of respect for their athletic program in general. I pull for all HBCUS; but I gotta be honest...it's hard to pull for the Rattlers sometimes. Their fans really rub folks the wrong way. [/font] DITTO ^^^^^

We got it now, throw to Keyes 5-7 times a game and we will be next to unstoppable. You can't stop both the pass and run so, pick your poison.

I learned last minute that I could attend GHOE and definitely did so. I was one of many that had to wait through 2 quarters in line to get in the game. They sold out of general admission and reserve tickets right behind me(thankful I got in). There were hundreds of people behind me still waiting in line willing to pay to get in but got turned away. We missed out on a lot of extra money that could've been made.
Is there a way whenever we sale out of game tickets that we can still sale passes at a different rate to let people in the game zone but not in the stadium? Possibly set up a cheap projector under a tent showing our live stream that we provide free anyway?
Just thinking about additional revenue sources. A lot of people were complaining in line because they wanted to pay just to get in to hang out with their friends tailgating in the game zone. They were turned away because we were at capacity in the stadium.
Trial and Error

back in the day, we used to bring in a bunch of portable bleachers for overflow crowds but we can't do that anymore because of our track facility. and actually, we haven't really needed overflow bleachers until this year. past years (after the hayes/small eras), we might sellout ghoe but didn't really have a demand beyond our capacity. but this year we definitely did.
looked like "old times" this past weekend! our biggest "public relations" and advertising mechanism has been our performances on espn national tv. of course, the scsu game didn't help us very much. but i'm sure that the aa&m and hampton performances spiked interest in aggie football all around the country where our alums live. that's the advantage of playing on espn "national tv" versus only local or regional coverage on other networks...

One quick question about the FAMU. Should we have taken Quick out with 5 minutes left to go in the game? I know he was rusty and this was excellent time to get some rep but on the play he fumbled the ball I thought he was slow getting up.

Another football coach was fired today at FAMU...but this time it was head coach Earl Holmes.

dang! i've never liked midseason firings, "except" when fobbs got fired for blowing that game to central. other than that, i generally don't like midseason firings. gooosh, the man only had 3 or 4 games left this season. welp, i guess they're looking for a spark before the season ends.
the last 2 rattler alum head coach hirings (football and basketball) fell flatly on their faces. welp, i guess famu won't be hiring anymore "alumni" head coaches anytime soon...

Payback is a mutha! Earl "Hit Man" Holmes undercut previous coach Joe Taylor in midseason (Homecoming Week) and got his job. Now, in midseason (again, Homecoming Week), Earl is taking a "hit."

Blount is pretty much done at DSU. Pete may survive now that he has finally decided to play the true freshman at QB and has actually been scoring more than 10 points the last couple of weeks. Howard is totally indifferent toward athletics so Flea will be back.

I figure since flea was gone last year he gets another year. But honestly, with the best qb in the conference their record should not look like that.
Blount's done. No matter how many years are left on his contract. They'll switch him to administration if they need to, but he won't be coaching. Maybe they'll send Lavan back to the sidelines. Should've kept him in the first place. They could also beg Collick to come back from coaching high school. Or beg the guy from Salisbury State to come. Or come up with a load of cash and beg K.C. Keeler to leave his current job to come "home." Of course they have so many decent options they wouldn't dare actually choose one of them.
Pete's probably ok, but other than his championship year his tenure has been totally underwhelming.
