So despite how A&T looked against a top 5 team in Coastal Carolina, not only the Aggies were not ranked in any top 25 poll, Coastal kept their top 5 ranking in 2 of the 3 FCS polls. They only dropped in the AGS.com poll to #7.
My question is will this blatant slap in the face motivate us as we gear up for conference play and a possible playoff run?
I think it should. The Aggies are a manageable passing game away from being a legit playoff contender after what I saw Saturday and I have complete confidence this will get done, this year. We have to go out and earn the respect we deserve this Saturday against Elon. Anything less than a beatdown of the Fighting Christians will be a disappointment.

If the AGGIES won the game against(CCU), they would have been rank. JUST WIN BABY! The AGGIES are not into moral victories

Yep...this happens across-the-board each week with all schools (PWCs & HBCUs), so I'm not surprised at all that we're still not ranked.
Like Gator and BigPeete1 said, "Just win!"

Uh, yeah.
If we played a schedule of all top 15 teams and lost every one, where would we be ranked?

we don't deserve to be ranked if its gonna be based on a loss. teams don't get credit for a close loss to a quality team, you've got to beat them. there's a consistent theme here, "just win, baby"!

That is correct, gentlemen. No style points in losing.

The only ranking that really counts is being one of the 24 teams that will be playing Thanksgiving weekend in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

Agree with Aggie One but I was shocked that Tenn State remained in the poll after losing to non ranked Alabama State

Damn raking...I want "W's". Let's just win out this season and be ready for the playoff. I'm only looking for a win at Elon this weekend. Folks you guys act surprised that we aren't ranked. Even if we had beat Coastal I would have been surprised if we would have been moved up in the ranking. I need to sit down with some of you guys and have "the talk" with you about the real world. But that's after football season...we have a game in a few days so "the talk" will have to wait.

Did we pick up additional votes in the polls? Sent from my EVO using proboards

But, that's okay, keep winning and eventually the ranking will come as well as the playoffs.

I don't understand this fascination with being ranked either. A similar subject rose after the App game last year. After the Elon game, somebody started a thread with a scenario with us and BCU going undefeated. Then after the SCSU game the thread was "Aggie Still In The Driver Seat For Play-off Shot". Then after Hampton and Del State, the sentiment was, "Will The Aggies Have a Winning Season?". Anybody see what happened here?
I remember posting we don't have any control over the polls, but winning will take care of our ranking. So let's concentrate on ELON. I bet they are thinking about beating us and not how many votes they will get when they beat us.

rankings are a "pride" thing. even though the polls don't mean squat (unless you're a bcs team), we all love to see our aggies ranked because its a "pride" thing. i wanna see us ranked too, but i don't lose any sleep if we're not. i kinda like flying under the radar, but with this year's team, i don't think we have to.
i prefer to concentrate on winning the meac title this year. this upcoming elon game is very important because we need to get back on the right track so that we can take some momentum into our meac schedule.
ooouch!! i know the ccu game is over, but it still hurts. as hard as it is, i've gotta put it in my rearview mirror and move forward...
