OSA, I think the Howard QB you are thinking of is Pep Hamilton, now the O.C. of the Indy Colts. I think he was Luck QB coach before becoming the O.C. peete, pep was a hail of a qb at howard but didn't quite make it to the nfl level. man, seems like howard produces better quality qb's than most of the other meac programs. i mean, to this very day they have (imo) the best qb in the meac. and, considering how down trodden the bison have been before the flea returned, they also produce more than their fair share of nfl players...

OSA . HU look far and wide for their players and they also will reach out to there alums/players to help. I have talked with a number of Aggies in the Dallas and Houston aera that have stated that they have contacted and sent info on players to A&T only to find out that A&T did not evan try to contact the players are the alums. Also this kid Maghee you think he can go. His back up is from Greenboro S.G, kids name is Jamie Cunningham came in for Maghee truned the game around if u ask me he maybe better then MagheƩ .

Cunningham and Wr Colvin both from Southern Guilford went to Howard. But kids want to get away from home, so it is not that easy. The year HU signed Cunningham , NCAT signed the qb from DC who some say will move to TE

OSA. 2013 was a down year for us (class room problem) so we had to let a lot of the better players go. This year I feel we just may make a deep playoff run.

What concerns me going into this year is what happened last year at the QB spot. Despite his numerous mistakes, #7 was never taken off the field for a significant extent of time. The only way I view this is as....."if you think he's bad, wait until you see who's behind him." Many of those QBs under him last year are still here. Are they going to make significant leaps to be better than #7 from last year - I just don't know. Honestly, I have my concerns that will not be the case. With that in mind, I think we may have to take the "SC State - Richard Cue approach." 1) Run a whole bunch of screen plays to perfection 2) Run a whole lot of QB options 3) Master the quick in's/quick out's/wagon plays/swing passes/quick slants. The way I view this, we need to have a lot of 0-10 yard passes turn into 40,50,60+ yard gains. We have good skilled players - instead of putting the honus on the QB to be the playmaker, give the ball to the skilled players and let their talents do the rest. The key for the offense is TO MINIMIZE TURNOVERS. It's hard to get a 0-5 yard pass intercepted. It's hard for the QB to fumble when the ball is out of his hands before you count to 3. I love the long pass plays.....but if we don't have a QB who can consistently hit a receiver 20+ yards out, minimize those type of plays. I hate thinking this way because I love an aerial attack....but I ain't gonna lie - everytime a pass went beyond 10-15 yards, I was holding my breath fearing the worst. We have to get maximum outcomes from "minimum plays." Im with you Superstar on points '1,2 & 3.' Give me some 'catch & run' plays with our 'Bob Hayes' D Lawrence. Also I can see a screen play with Cohen being so beautiful.
