Yeah, if you were a quality recruit, wouldn't you cry laughing once you got a letter from A&T? Would you waste one of your visits to even go to the campus? What would A&T have to offer you as a player? Would your parents support you going there? If you played offense, would/could you possibly have confidence in your QB/Head/Offensive Coach-Coordinator? What has the AD done to get and keep her job there? Imagine this...
You are sitting a the bar sipping something. Someone well-dressed approaches you and proceeds to tell you how he/she has been a loser for the last 2 years but he/she would do better if only he/she had YOU. Would you go home with him/her?
This is why we are in trouble. It's to the point that if someone signs to A&T, I immediately have to assume it was his only D-1 offer. Just think about that. That's why teams don't go from worst to first in football. It usually happens over 10-15 years.
It's like, why do we even post anything about Football anymore. Until someone cleans house like FAMU did, every post is a repeating record. Just like this one. lol

If you were a quality recruit would you go to a pace where the coach that is recruiting you is going to get fired befroe you graduate no matter what happens.

You would be amazed to how many kids want to help turn a program around. So, we are not dead in the water just yet. Also you have to remember that kids still want to come to A&T no matter what. I hear from a lot kids that would love to come and help the program and some kids also just want a free education to help their families out. I think a lot you all are in panic mode just because we are not winning and not looking at the bigger picture.

I agree with Krazykev. I talk to kids all the time and they just want to play. You may have to beat the street a little harder than the next school but recruiting is more about what you have to offer in way of facilities and education on the D1-AA level. Recruits think they can turn anything around.
Our problem may come recruiting out of state but in-state kids will still come. Prior to this year our staff was horrible at recruiting in-state talent. But I've heard good things about what they are doing now. I've talked to kids that have been to homecoming by invite of the coaching staff and kids who came to other games. The loosing streak isn't really effecting their decision. I talked to a QB(whos name I will keep to myself) and the only comment he had was that A&T was really weak at QB, but he loved the fanbase, the campus, the education, and environment. If we offered him, only App, maybe Hampton, or DivI would keep him from coming(his words).
There are still some kids we haven't contacted yet in-state that is bothering me, but maybe they will in the coming weeks.
The only thing that will hurt us is the fact that da1andonle might be right. Kids do want to know how long the coach will be there. If they know A&T will honor Fobb's 4 years no matter what and will extend him if he does better on the 4th then we should be OK.

Official first contact day for D-1 and D-1AA is tomorrow morning. Time will tell. We have offered 20 high school kids (14 in-state). According to the new NCAA rules, assistants can contact recruits as many times as they want. Head coaches can only contact them once - in home or on campus. There is a two week dead period the last two weeks of December.
Note to keep in mind - the number of January commitments Fobbs can seal before national signing day (the first Wednesday in February), will be a real good sign as to how A&T's football recruiting will go over the next 60 days.

I, too, agree with you krazykev!! As a retiree, I tutor math under Title 1 here in Virginia and I know of several students at the school where I work who have said they plan to go to NCA&T, not knowing that I'm an alumnus. They don't care about the football team except for one who is one heck of a football player (a junior) but has family who are alumni also.

Doesn't matter if we sign a bus load of blue chippers if the same folks are going to be coaching them.

Maybe there will be some assistant coaching duty changes, some different assistants, a new OC, or something?
Since Fobbs isn't gone then maybe something like one of the above can turn this staff around. Maybe Fobbs learned a whole lot and knows where to make the changes on his staff? A bunch of a$$ kickings can teach you a lot sometimes.
