Enjoy the win, talk all the crap we can as 3 peat rivalry winners, be happy with our 2nd winning season and let Broadway, Bustle and crew do their job in the off season without restrictions for the first time. Some schools make mistakes, we make revisions. :-D Partial credit is definitely deserved.
Aggie Pride!!!
Next up Basketball season in full swing and we're looking good. Enjoy

Get the kids into their books full time for semester ending exams and begin recruiting first thing Monday morning. We have 15 more scholarships than normal to fill this winter.

Thanks to all of the players for a great ending to another winning season. Now that you've earned your scholarship, go hit the books and get your education. For us fans, let's take a few days off and get ready for round ball. If you liked this football season Cy and the boys will really give you a show.

Gotta develop a quarterback who can take some pressure off Cohen. That has to be the No. 1 priority this off-season.
Also, I would consider recruiting a JUCO fullback to serve as a lead blocker for him.
It's hard to imagine, but all of our offensive hopes and dreams for 2014 are placed on the legs of a 5'8, 170 lb running back.
We've gotta build our program around him now.

Hey thrilla, who's the 5'8", 170 lb running back you referred to? I swear Cohen is shorter and lighter than that but I'm with you, got to get a mobile, agile QB. Someone that can step in there next year and keep the defense honest with his scrambling and passing capability. I also agree we need a punishing fullback that can open some holes for Cohen and pick up short yardage when needed. I think Cohen will be a big part of our offense next year but I don't think (hope) he will be our only offensive weapon next season. He's a great weapon but you cannot feature him too much. I think he should have plays that get the ball to him in space but we just cannot require him to "carry" the offense. We need some "pass catchers" too. Tight ends and receivers that will work to get open and make great catches. If Cohen is our feature back we had better get a passing game to keep the defenses from keying on him every play.
I think it's interesting that we all want help on the offensive side. The defense was awesome this year...except a few minor errors. I think our coaches have the formula for the defense but are still looking for the right ingredient for the offense. Let's hope they figure it out by next spring.

i think a starting qb should be the highest priority for next season. either bring one of our existing qb’s up to par or bring in somebody new who can start on day 1. we also need some backup rb’s next season since both of our backups this year were “very reliable” seniors who we could turn to. but if cohen goes down next year, who is gonna step in for him? we need 2 more reliable rb’s for sure. i think our wr corps are in very good shape for several years to come, no urgent need there. but our o-line may need a little work during the offseason, though its good that our backups got some valuable experience this season considering that they got thrown to the wolves this year.
defensively, most of our backups were freshmen and sophomores this season and i feel pretty good about them, even our backup db’s. i think our defense will be as good next season as we were this season despite losing several key players, but we’ve definitely got to learn how to close out games defensively when we have a lead during the closing minutes of the game. we’ve really gotta get that fixed.
i think the good news is that most of our parts are already in place for next year except for a few very key positions. we really have to go recruit “extra hard” after those key positions that we need and re-enforce all other positions. but what i like about where our program is right now, is that its much easier to recruit when you’ve proven that you have a winning program and having back to back 7-4 seasons will really help our recruiting. especially considering that the margin of all of our losses were only “16” points combined. that’ll get the attention of a bunch of recruits.
we’re not where we need to be “yet”, but we’re well positioned to get there soon. if we boost a few weaknesses in our armor with this next recruiting class, we should be in pretty good shape next season. its possible that we could have an meac championship caliber team next season, but we definitely should by 2 seasons from now...
