Ain't my problem.
But just look at the statement. The way it's worded says "we didn't do well. We should have done a lot better. I'm fin to make sure we do. I will do what is necessary. PS, when I make these moves you'd better come off some money."
Now whether he means it or is wasting his time and our time remains to be seen.
But honestly, how many Dee Todd fans do you know? You might find some people willing to give Fobbs a bye, but Todd?

It would make no sense to fire Todd & not fire Fobbs. We probably can't afford to buy out both of em, so pick one. Right now the primary issue is to get the football team fixed.

I think this is just a comforting statement to let us alums know he cares. Nothing will happen except FobbTodd will be put on notice that better results are expected for next season.
"We have experienced a very difficult football season this year." .....but there's something about this statement, combined with the timing of the email, that makes one think something big could possibly happen.

You could fire Todd and reassign Fobbs.

I agree with Sharpless. I think he wanted to acknowledge there's a problem and it has his attention.

This is just an empathy message (I feel your pain) and I care about your concerns. This dude is at least a year away from making any changes. Because if any action was gonna happen that would be the announcement. He should be saying "We have reviewed the Athletic Department and these are the changes we are gonna make, or we aren’t making any changes at this time" I have no confidence in a guy that puts out this type preliminary statement at the end of the season.
This is the type of crap you say when you need time or are on the fence. Tell me what additional reviews are needed to determine if the current staff is going to be successful in their mission. We have all the financial data, we have on the job performance and interaction. We have been in discussion with other institutions about how they run their athletic programs, specifically football. What more is needed to make a decision one way or the other. In three years FAMU will be back on top and we will be saying “ it will be alright”. I'm starting to blame the alumni more and more and Todd/Fobbs less and less.

OK, so who's ready to draft a letter on behalf of the BDF?

About what?

Draft to letter to respond to what? There hasn't been any moves made by the university and if something does happen, what difference would it make. That is a decision that Battle must make on his own and he hasn't shown his hand either way, at least publically.
There only thing that the editorial staff and operators of this web site could or would do would be publish their opinion(s).
I certainly would not be so presumptious to believe that everyone who post on this web site is in lock step with the prevailing notion that both the AD and the football coach should be fired today.
Not to agree or disagree - My gut instinct from conversations and impressions from folks with a ear closer to the Dowdy Building than any of us - Don't anticipate seeing Fobbs going anywhere but out to recruit beginning on Friday, the first official contact day.

That Fobbs needs to be released. It should be signed by individuals, especially donors.
