I mean, when did you really start to become obsessed with the program?
For me, it had to be after the Hampton game in 99.
We had just gotten blown out by Elon two weeks prior and then struggled in a sloppy win over Norfolk State. Everyone thought we were going to get destroyed by Hampton, who I think was coming off back-to-back MEAC championships. However, that is when Mo Smith and Eric Farmer began to emerge as a lethal backfield tandem.
I forget what the final score was, but I know we had about 40 points and 300 yards rushing by the fourth quarter.
After that, I was hooked.

the final score was 41-24 and shocked everybody including us Aggies. For me there isn't one moment that stands out to me because I have been coming to games since 1990 first with my parents and now as a student so its been life long love affair for me with Aggie football. Thats why whats going on right now hurts me so. But if I had to choose one moment that truly stands out for me it would be later on in that unforgettable 1999 season and the championship game against FAMU. The game, the bands yes FAMU brought their band thats how big the game was, everything was perfect that day. We had another championship game against Hampton in 2003 but nothing will ever touch that day because nobody gave us chance of winning and we came in and crushed FAMU. There so much passion and emotion in Aggie Stadium that day and nothing will ever top not even when we beat Tenn State that year.

Just like dwight09 I've been coming to games since I was a child. Aggie football was a tradition in my family, we always sat on the visitors side in the same section at the top of the stadium right on the 50, it was all I ever knew for a long time. I remember my dad carrying me into the games so he wouldnt have to pay for me. For me there were two moments. The first moment I knew I was a die hard aggie had to be the infamous homecoming game against Howard. Seeing all of those people in the stadium, sitting around the track, and behind the endzone I was like "I can't wait to go to A&T". When Jay Walker ran that touchdown in OT I cried my eyes out. I got a chance to meet Jay Walker before the Norfolk game this year and I told him that I hated him after that game and that he was the reason I hate Howard so much now.
The second has to be the 99 FAMU game as well, that game was crazy. We were surrounded by FAMU folks. Before the game all of them were talking big s*** and we were talking right back, my uncle told one of them "we gon kick yall a$$ and then we gon kick the band a$$!!!" we talked junk to them the WHOLE game that was the best time I ever had at an A&T game. I remember one guy in particular though, he was like "Were gonna score 28 by halftime guranteed". Needless to say by halftime he was nowhere to be found.
After the game was over a handfull of students ran on the field and jumped on the goalpost and the campus cops chased them down. Sound familiar Thrilla? ;D

I can't remember anyone moment (maybe because I was a little tipsy before going into the games), but ever since that first home game my freshman year in 1997, I've been hooked. From Basnight breaking off long runs, only to get caught from behind and fumble, Mo Smith bruising folks off tackle, Pelshak looking like LT in Blue & Gold, to the folks in the stands yelling "Hayes Gotta Go . . . "
Damn . . . the memories!!!!

I got hook when we played all the games at old War Memorial Stadium. We had players like Ralph Coleman, Willie Wright, Thomas "Bird" Anthony, Ron Tuck, Elsworth Turner, Wheeler Brown, G. Ragsdale just to name a few. One game that stands out is a game we played against S.C. State and they led the whole game. We were down by 13 points with about 2 minutes or less left in the game and thats when Elsworth Turner (QB) went to work throwing to his favorite receiver Dexter Fiester. We won that game 14 to 13, I think this was in either 74 or 75, I am not sure, but it was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen at A&T.

Anybody remember Lon Harris. He was 5'-nothing wore #1 and could fly. I used to love to see him run back kicks. Back then they wore tear-away jerseys and he would go through at least two a game.

you know it is so funny to me when i look in the program and it says that the 2001 homecoming against FAMU had the most people I bet me and lilboy remember that 1993 homecoming against howard when both teams came in unbeatable there was at least 35K in the stadium that day maybe even 40K. there were people all over the place on the track and even on the field. Aggie Stadium will never be like that again because of Dee Todd and campus police they just destroyed it homecoming will never be the same.

This is easy. 93 Homecoming vs Howard. it was way more people in that place than the official attendance said. It seems like someone put a hole in the fence and 10 thousand people came in on the low.

Homecoming '93 is easily the best game I've ever seen on any level. We talk about this game on the FAMU message board from time to time. The game that got me hooked on A&T football was the '92 South Carolina State game. There were back to back kickoffs returned for touchdowns. The '99 game against FAMU for the MEAC title wasn't too shabby either. Loved seeing the Marching 100 in person.

Man, we were about 50 deep with about 45 seconds left in the game. The plan was to all rush the field together and then take down the north goal post before the rent-a-cops knew what hit em. 20 seconds left and we all went over the plan, making sure everyone was ready. The clock strikes 0:00 and I jumped over the railing and make a bee line for the endzone. I looked back to make sure everyone was still en route, and dammit, my small army of Aggie fans had suddenly dwindled down to just me and my two homies from Scott hall: Klye Everitt and Chris Mims. I think Kyle made it all the way to the top of the goalpost while me and Chris were trying to push that bad boy out the ground. (I have no idea how they do it at the big schools.) We did that for about 30 seconds before one of the A&T cops - who was actually my cousin, Boss - told us to beat it.
That is was you call arrested development.

.... But I got hooked when I went to the Aggie Eagle in 95.......... Lots of people lots of women, those were the days Definitely one of the best atmospheres for a football game!!! Up until the '99 FAMU game, there was no other game that approached the atmosphere at the '95 Aggie/Eagle Classic (IMO).
