Funny what happens when you commit to running the ball. Our struggles on offense have never been about poor offensive line play; it has always been about how much we ourselves were committed to establishing the run and getting our best back involved early and often. i agree with most of your post. but clearly our o-line had a better day than they did in our last 2 games. they were opening some gaping holes on occasion. and the truth is in the putting. not only did mayhew have a big day, but so did ricky lewis. we might have expected mayhew to have a big day. but the fact that ricky lewis also had a lot of success tells me that o-line was blowing folk off the ball! even kindle had a better than usual day running the ball. great day for aggie football! this changes everything going into next week's game at dsu. if the coaches stick with mayhew as the focus of our offense, i think it will continue to breed new life into our team...

oh, and one other thing. the fact that mayhew was largely held back in our first 3 or 4 games may bode well for us down the stretch. mayhew should be a lot "fresher" at the mid season point compared to previous years.
hopefully that'll mean he'll finish off the season much stronger as a result, unlike previous years when he could barely walk by seasons end...

I agree that the offense line was the big star of this game! They smacked Howard's defenses in the mouth in the first series and they folded. Now if the offense can keep it up, we will have a great second half season.

The comment below comes from the same person that a week ago said we would not win another game. Don't blow with the wind. Pick a side and stay on it.
