Why would an 0-18 team trailing 0-10 do this? Why???

Not only did we punt from the 30 on 4th and 7. They lined up for a punt, called a timeout to think about it and still came back out and punted the ball into the ENDZONE.
I have some serious questions about the coaching staff.

I just knew a fake or something was coming. They would have been better off just throwing one up to the end zone and hoping for a Pass interference.

This is what you call "betting against the house" when Coach Fobbs tried to gain defensive yards by having the punter aim his punt between the goal line and the twenty.

Our punter is not good enough to attempt a directional punt..... The coaching staff is embarrasing!!!!!!!!

We were in a similar situation last year against SC Steat. Here is my description from a post I made when I was listening to the game:
A more experienced coaching staff probably would've made a different call on that one.
The good news is after making the same mistake two years in a row and most likely reading about it in this post, they won't be apt to make the same decision a third time.

A friend of mine was listening to the game on radio in Greensboro and he said the announcers stated that A&T only had nine men on the field for the punt so they had to call timeout.

I remember when we played Cookman at home on national t.v. in Small's last year. Near the end of the first half we had a fourth and one on around the 50. Small called a timeout, I assumed it was to make sure his players understood what play we would be running to get the first down. We come back out and punt. After the qb ran for about 30 yards on the first play he tossed the ball over our heads for a touchdown on the second play.
I was under the impression Small was terminated for a perceived lack of desire by his players and poor coaching decisions on the sidelines. What has changed?

So why not run the play clock down and just take the penalty? If we were hell bent on punting then why not take the extra 5 yards to give your punter a lil more room?

Can we give Yonnick Matthews a haircut, get him some Michael Jackson skin-bleaching cream, and dress him up as a freshman kicker from some European soccer-playing country?
