NC A&T wraps up first week of training camp

Good story NC News 14 did on Training camp. In the interview Mayhew mentioned a RB transfer from ECU anyone got any info on this cat?

Desmond Lawrence, Southern Durham, 6-0,190. He's a true "take it to the house" running back with speed to burn.

Went to ECU on a track scholarship and a football walk-on last year. Football kept calling his name so he transferred to where he could play immediately. He has four years of football eligibility to use. All of his teammates he left behind a year ago signed with us this year so it was a no brainer for him to transfer to A&T.

Check out his You Tube recruiting video at Southern Durham. Desmond (Dez Lightning) Lawrence is considered to be one of the fastest backs in D1 Football, and the 2010 National Champion in the 100 meter dash.

Make no mistake. He's the total package. Just needs to get back into football rhythm and some playing time.

somebody "please" tell me this kid is gonna run track for a&t! there's no better way of improving your speed than running track. imo, raper should've been on the track team too. i'd like to see more of our football speed guys running track...

Fellow Aggies... the countdown to the kickoff to redemption starts in 3 weeks. After so many horrible football seasons, we may finally be back on the road to "Old School Aggie Football!" I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I can hardly sleep at night. Aggie Pride!

With no spring practice next year, it's probably a good bet that several of our skill players will be competing in track and field for the spring of 2013, then participate in off season team training during summer school.

Broadway is going to be red shirting about half of this year's freshman class which is a good sign that we now have a little bit of depth among the upperclassmen in the program now.

We now have a direct pipeline to a school with some of the most athletic kids in the triangle. Adrian Jones(southern durham's head coach) and Broadway are very close.
