It's an outstanding move to put this game on a Thursday night. The MSU game only draws about 9,000 - 11,000 so we can probably do even better with some good marketing and promotions. Besides we still have six other Saturday home games for those who don't like it. Well-stated, Decks!

ESPN is like any other sports venue if me market and promote the game right and have a large turn out 20k are more with a win!! Their is a better chance A&T will make more appearances on ESPN!!

I am almost certain that ESPN & the MEAC have a contract to televise a certain number of football and basketball games. Moving the home game & our conference opener vs. Morgan State to Thursday night was great. Our AD mentions all the time about returning Aggie football back to glory. We should use this Thursday night game to our advantage. Promoting it well to have the stands full & performing great on the field will pay dividends as far as our brand is concerned.

I like the move, the only thing I hate is that ESPN films from the home side. Makes the stands look empty. Especially since the middle is reserved.
They should make some special consideration for the Thursday night game and sell reserves section tickets at regular price on the visitor side to help offset that look.

Good point Monster. We should move the band and the students to the visitors side if necessary.

Good point Monster. We should move the band and the students to the visitors side if necessary. This is the same thing I was thinking. For that particular game move the band over there and put students beside them. Do this and have some sort of youth night promotion or whatever and put them all over there would make for a nice atmosphere and good look on the camera.

Great Idea, has anyone forward this suggestion to THE "AD" and The Director of Bands "Dr. Ruff" ? AGGIE PRIDE!

Wow, I was just throwing it out there, but what you expect from the guy who drew up the bands new seating area, LOL.
I still like JUST opening it up to general admission because you cant put the band behind the visiting team. They would definitely claim "FOUL" and complain to the MEAC.

Do you think people will be tuning in to see who is in the stands or to see a good football game? The majority of those Thursday night games don't have many fans in the stands but I will watch them if it is a good game. I say leave the band where it is and just play the game. If our team is playing good at that time people will show up. At least I hope they will!

They will be filming from at least 3 angles. Home side, and both end zones. One on the field (fieldhouse side) and one in the stands by the alternate scoreboard...

It's not that the stadium looks "terrible" on tv, but we tend to ignore little things that would make our environment better just because we haven't done it before. Sure, people are not tuning in to see how big the crowd is, but it doesn't hurt to sell reserve tickets for regular price for a Thursday night game. Trying to put your best "look" out there is something we've ALWAYS lacked because people just dont wont to be bothered. You never know if a possible recruit is watching or a prospective student is watching. It's the small things that we ignore that could win people over.
Moving the band to where its at now was one of the best things we did in a long time. So many people said "Just leave them where they are at". Now everyone loves it. We should reference that example every time someone says we dont "need" to change anything.

What would be nice is if we could find a way to build a small press box on the visitor's side, or at least somewhere you can put a camera or three comfortably. That would solve the issue.

I think that you can put the band anywhere in the stadium that you want them. I don't believe that it would be a concern of the MEAC Office at all.

This is a issue that the MEAC office should be working with any MEAC school that has a football game on TV. You always want to put your best foot forward and show that your games are a lively experience.

Maybe, but that's straight up disrespectful to your guest. As a visiting staff I would be pissed and A&T would be on my "hit list". I dont think anyone has ever done that. If someone did that to A&T(ESPN or not) we would be pissed. Imagine FAMU behind A&Ts bench! Doesn't matter if its directly behind or off to the side like they are now. It would be a distraction.
