Parents and future parents take heed, can you guess how Ms. Willis first came to know the greatness found at A&T? Well it was when she was eight years of age attending an event with her family on campus. From that day forth she knew where she wanted to graduate from. We encourage you to read this interview and network with a future engineer.
"How did you decide to become a student at North Carolina A&T State University?
At the age of 8, I attended an event at A&T, and from then on, I knew that I would be an Aggie. I also knew that I wanted to major in Engineering, and A&T has one of the best programs in the world!
What professors at North Carolina A&T State University are leaving the most impression upon you as a person and student? What did they do that continues to mean so much to you to this day?
All my professors have left an impression on me. But my advisor, Mrs. Vinson has been the best! She’s always there for me beyond just academics! She plays the “mama” role since my mom is so far away. She’s someone I can go find and just vent, and who will give me advice.
What is the story of your “experience” to date at North Carolina A&T State University given its heralded status as a stellar and prestigious institution?
North Carolina A&T State University is truly a place that is near and dear to my heart. I love this University and every aspect of it. The people, the campus life, the alumni!
A&T is a prestigious University that has graduated so many successful graduates! It provides its students with so many opportunities. It truly is your home away from home.
What are the chants heard most often at the sporting events?
AGGIE PRIDE! Because Aggie Pride is NC A&T! But its more than a chant, its a state of mind. Aggie pride is Acheiving Great Goals In Everything, Producing Renowned Individuals Dedicated to Excellence.
How did you overcome your nervousness about going to college?
I had no time to overcome my nervousness. I graduated highschool and left for A&T for summer program 5 days after graduating. I kind of hit the ground running.
What is your major? and Why did you choose it?
My Major is Industrial and Systems Engineering. I chose it because of my facination with systems and how things in society operate. Also because of its research in human ergonomics. With my degree, I plan to go to graduate school to pursue a degree in Nanotechnology to help propel my goals in Industrial Engineering.
What to date has been your proudest moment @ North Carolina A&T State University?
My proudest moment was making the dean’s list and being chosen to represent the College of Engineering during Engineer’s week! I got to meet so many different people who all believe in the field of Engineering. It inspired me to work really hard in my major."
