Grambling Comeback Completes Championship Run BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Jacarde Carter returned a fumble 66 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give Grambling State a 16-15 victory over Alabama A&M in the Farmers Insurance SWAC Football Championship Game presented by Toyota on Saturday. Grambling (8-4) won its sixth SWAC championship in the 13-year history of the event. Four of those wins have come against Alabama A&M, which fell to 1-5 all-time in the title game. An 11-yard touchdown run by Kaderius Lacey and a 36-yard scoring pass from Deaunte Mason to Terence Pride helped A&M (8-4) build a 15-0 lead late in the first half. The Bulldogs missed both extra-point attempts. Grambling closed the gap to 15-9 midway through the third quarter on an 80-yard touchdown pass from D.J. Williams to Mario Louis. The Tigers won despite completing four passes and being outgained in total yardage 337-182. Lacey gained 95 yards and set an A&M record for rushing yards in a season with 1,152. www.swac.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27400&ATCLID=205344794Thanks for all of the support that the a&ters have given THE ICON during our title run. We have seen your threads following our progress during our season. Again thanks in more ways than one. ;D

Hey, congratulations to Grambling and all of the Tiger family. Great comeback and great effort considering the change of Head Coach. I also like the idea of the SWAC Championship. I'm sure there are hundreds of reasons for A&T to play in the FCS playoffs but based on our history and the poor revenue we get, I am not sure. I just don't follow the FCS close enough to know the true benefits for A&T. Can anyone school me on this?

I look at it this way: It's just a win win for both and it's no big deal any way you look at it. Broadways a Carolina man and he gets to come home and that's it. Broadway brought a change to the old way A&T did things at a time when we needed change. Now we will see in the coming seasons if he can turn A&T's program around. That's it in a nut shell.

Is this your way of saying congrats on our SWAC Championship? It's me saying that any time you can win a championship it's a good thing. If congrats are what your looking for then congrats to the G-men. As for me I look at season to season on a coach are a team. I'm a here and now person!! Grambling had a good season and A&T had a better season then most expected . So I would say it's a win-win for both. The next coming seasons will tell on both A&T and Grambling and hopefully we both will come out winners. That's what I'm saying. The only person that talks about Grambling in this household is the Jag Lady ..lol Most of it you can't put in print...lol But good luck on the 2012 season and I hope we see you down the road ..
