Why are so many people allowed on the track? It makes us look bush league when you have all these extra people on the track shaking their azz and stepping. More importantly, will it take someone getting hurt or causing damage to the track before we get a clue?

I was wondering the same thing, it really got out of hand this last game.

I guess that's the downside of having the band march in that way. Of course we aren't paying security to keep the track clear like in past years. But Hell to think of it, the Gold coats/band staff has a bunch of folk on the track as well.

I was not talking about staff and people with credentials, i'm talking about other people just chilling and stepping.

I think the band is the main reason why you have all the people on the track during the game. They seem to pass out sideline credentials like its candy.
However, I can't really complain. Sometimes if I am with my oldest son, I will come down to the field and drop him off over by the GD staff. They have a little area over there where the kids of some of the staff members all hang out. It is like a virtual Chuck E. Cheese over there. That buys me about a good hour and half to hang out with the Click.
Then you have the Ques on the track and all the old band heads. I don't know why the Ques get sideline credentials but they are usually good for two step routines a game. Plus we got about 600 cheerleaders on the track. We could stand to reduce that number a bit also.
Add in all the student reporters, "freelancers" and fake photographers who never post their pictures anywhere, and you have enough gameday personnel to take over a small country.
