Monster......u are rite. Intentional grounding in the end zone is a safety. The only "out" for those "piss-poor" officials was them saying the "passer" got hit trying to deliver the pass. Easily the MEAC has one of the worse officiating crews on this universe!!!!! I agree that the MEAC officials can be poor some times but I bet the CIAA also has poor officials. I think it all has more to do with "you get what you pay for."

This game didn’t have to be so close. Watching A&T games like this one work my nerves. Do you guys think the officials are targeting Broadway because of his episode at FAMU? Central’s first two touchdowns were the result of a plethora of penalties against A&T. I was so steamed that I thought about leaving the stadium and walking in the gamezone. LOL. The officials were calling this game tight for a reason. As was discussed in another thread, improving the entire kicking team should be a priority for next year. A&T’s last touchdown drive was a thing of beauty. Time consuming, power, smash mouth, great throws. It was like slamming the door in someone’s face. I was on the Central side at the end of the game. They seemed to take the loss quite calmly, almost as if they didn’t think they were going to win anyway. I’m sure that was not the attitude at the start of the season. I think many of them are quietly questioning Frazier. Agreed that the bands should not be playing (with the exception of drum cadences) when the team are on the fields. Central’s band started that mess up first though. If any Eagles are reading, your band was booed mainly because they played to the away side….well at least that’s what I think. Some just didn’t like the show or the length of the dance I thought you sounded ok though. Last thing is.....I wonder if it's time to consider putting down artificial turf. The field didn't look so great.

People were like "What the hell? who does that?" it was strange that the field look so bad and hadn't had a game played on it in 4 weeks. Also, the one played on it before that was on a dry day.

let the bands play..... Its the 2nd most heated rivalry in North Carolina and not just on the field. I dont think either coach would blow smoke over the bands getting loose. Its a classic. Well sorta

The field had to be a "money issue". We have to have the money to maintain the field all year. The only excuse would be money. If money was not the issue then it's unacceptable. Getting artificial turf is not the issue, maintaining the field is.

LIKE I TOLD YOU, THE GRASS FIELDS ARE A THING OF THE PAST. EVEN HIGH SCHOOLS HAVE TURF FIELDS. AGGIE STADIUM WOULD SO MUCH BETTER.

I can respect that but I think they perhaps went a little overboard, especially on the celebration penalties.

The field cuda been in better shape, of course, turf will solve that problem. My boy told me that the team had started practicing inside the stadium towards the end of the season so maybe that had sumthin to do with it.
MEAC refs.......without a doubt I think the "word" is out on "Funky B" and we got a lot of penalities called aginst us, not just the stanky bird game, but also for most of the season. The way I look at it "B" knows what he is doing. It is not just about "this year" but it is about the future and changing the whole culture of how we have done things since "Wild Bill" left. The refs may have been overzealous against us all year but "B" has been around we gon get respect and it ain't gonna be by "kissing up" and accepting it as is!
This is a new age for AGGIE NATION (football, not basketball-sigh). Most times the team takes on the personality the coaches and I think "B" was sending a message to his troopers that "I'm in the trenches w/you." Sometimes we will be over-aggressive and we will have calls unnecessarily called against us but I think within the next couple years Broadway will have his stamp on MEAC football. and we will be one of the most feared units in HBCU NATION (football, not basketball-sigh). GO AGGIES

1) The field was in bad shape because the team has been practicing on it since the time change , they practice until six o'clock ,and now it starts getting dark around 5:20 or so. 2) In regards to the bands, yes the BGMM played when either team had the ball , but they lowered the volume when the team broke the huddle, NCCU did not. I don't know how it can be dealt with but something has to be done about both bands playing at the same time. You cannot hear either band clearly and it just sounds like a bunch of garbage. No band can out blow another band , from a fan perspective it makes me just cover my ears and wait it out, especially when both bans are playing , there's music on the PA system and the announcer is talking, just makes my damn head hurt. I sat near Central's band and the problem with them was no leadership, their director was socializing with everybody and the drum major and anybody who wanted to was calling out songs to be played. 3) The penalties on us were for the most part justified. I understand Broadway sending a message but we have got to walk a fine line on this. The final score should have been 31- 7 , but for the penalties which put them in position to score.

The practicing on the field took a toll on it but the cold weather causes the turf to go dormant for the season. Sports turf is made up of warm season grasses such as Bermudagrass and Centipede , like golf courses, which go dormant this time of year after the first frost and freezing temps.

Look everything comes in time. Some of you same to think that a TURF field is cheap Not. For now we have to work with what we have until things get better. One thing A&T can do is have a professional lawn care service come in to maintain the field and use a A Fescue grass. It stays a dark green all year round, even in snow, tolerates heavy traffic, harsh sun, heat, shade, cold, lots of rain, drought, and thrives in virtually any situation and is CHEAP TO MAINTAIN .

If I remember correctly, the maintenance guys used a Bermuda/Rye mix in the summer then changed it over to Rye when the temps dropped in the fall. These turf fields are a million dollars a pop and have a fairly high maintenance cost.
I don't think you will see that at A&T anytime soon anyway because of all the track and field meets in the summer. The most economical answer is to landscape the practice field first and use portable lighting in November for a few weeks when DST switches over.

The field was not very green but it is in good shape. If you were to walked out there on it, you would have seen that it was in good playing shape, no bare spots. Then again, who cares what the field looks like as long as it is in good shape and we play well on it.

Then again, who cares what the field looks like as long as it is in good shape and we play well on it. We do all this talk about facilities, facilities. Well the field is part of that. There are schools that have natural grass and keep it green. It's just not a priority for us. I guess that's OK for some.
