i dunno, maybe its the coach in me, but i'm enjoying this winning streak and i'm afraid to look any further ahead than the howard game. i guess having been in athletics virtually all my life, that mentality has been permanently instilled in me.
i don't believe in overlooking anybody. i'll be nervous about this howard game until the final buzzer sounds or until we take like a 30 point lead or something. whichever comes first. i'm tempted to look ahead, but i can't.
the next best thing to beating nccu and wssu, is beating howard at their homecoming! i was there when we did it 2 years ago, and i'll be there this weekend hoping for the same result. as i recall, both mayhew and former aggie donte payne had big games against howard 2 years ago. i've got my fingers crossed that our guys will get the job done again this weekend.
the weather man is calling for another picture perfect weekend in dc, so the weather shouldn't be a factor. i'll be "closely" watching tonight's espnu game between nsu and bcu, hoping for a bcu win. if so, we'll at least temporarily hold 1st place free and clear by ourselves. who would've ever thought that would be possible 8 weeks ago?

^^^"FOCUS" is going to be the biggest factor in D.C. this weekend.
Like coach Willie Jeffries used to say, "We absolutely LOVE playing folks on their Homecoming because they can't focus solely on the game, most of the time."

WCA, i competely disagree. That's a waste of $30k. How are we going to host a game when there are two teams in the area that beat us by a combined 70 points? That $30k minimum bid is enough to fund some additional scholarships or pay for summer school for the kids. Great point...we need to focus on funding player scholarships and upgrading our staff not hosting a poorly attended playoff game. I want to host a playoff game when we are playing in it. So let win the rest of our games and if we are luck, go to some other school in the playoff and kick their butts. Go Aggies!

Can we win ,yes. Will we win it? I don't know. There are four teams that we have to beat on the road. I know we won't finish any worst than third after watching Norfolk State last night.
They are the same team they've always been except their FG kicker is from outer space and their running game frankly is worse than Del State and Wally World is way overrated at QB. Elkco from DSU is far, far better.
Pete Adrian is pretty simple in his footbsall philosophy. NSU plays good defense and then they wait for you to make a mistake and to capitlize on it with a short field. Make their offense actually earn their yards and points and they are only average on offense.
They have the schedule and the home field to their advantge in these next three big conference games but they don't scare me in the least.
