Chris Walley of Norfolk State and Asheton Jordan of South Carolina State were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Football Co-Offensive Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Tony Mashburn of North Carolina A&T was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Seth Higgins of Morgan State was selected as the Rookie of the Week while South Carolina State's Samuel Hammond was named Offensive Lineman of the Week. North Carolina A&T's Jose Garcia-Camacho earned the Special Teams Player of the Week honor, respectively.
Mashburn (DE, 6-0, 230, Jr., Tallahassee, Fla.) recorded seven tackles, four solo, with three for a loss of 12 yards. He notched a sack for a seven-yard loss and forced and recovered two fumbles in the Aggies' second straight conference victory.
Garcia-Camacho (K, 5-7. 160, Fr., Burlington, N.C.) hit two field goals of 24 and 29 yards out in the Aggies' win over Bethune-Cookman.

We had several players that could have been defensive player of the week, but Mashburn did deserve it.

I love our placekicker especially how he gauged kicking into that swirling wind on that first FG and how it pulled to the center after starting way right. I like his lift on the ball as well. Its hard for a defensive lineman to get a hand up that high to deflect or block that kind of kick.
He's was very well coached in high school at Burlington Cummings and it shows.
Garcia-Comacho is going to win A&T some big games before he leaves here in four years.
