For the second time in five years, Greensboro is set to host a memorable event for the University of North Carolina. Advertisement | Advertise with Us The inauguration of Thomas W. Ross as system president takes place Thursday in the Corbett Sports Center at N.C. A&T. Five years ago, Erskine Bowles’ inauguration was held in Aycock Auditorium on the UNCG campus. Both men are Greensboro natives. Ross lived here most of his life before career opportunities took him to Winston-Salem, Davidson and Chapel Hill. The inauguration focuses attention on Greensboro and its two historic institutions of higher education. The city’s colleges and universities are central to its identity and economy, and A&T and UNCG [just for AggieJazz] are the anchors. Ross surely will have laudatory comments about them both — in particular about their Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. It’s the perfect example of how the university system can blend assets into a cutting-edge program of vast academic and industrial potential. www.news-record.com/content/2011/10/03/article/editorial_higher_challenge

The official name of the Nano school has A&T's name first but ever since the initial article, the N&R reporters would put UNCG first followed by A&T. I also put the fault on A&T for allowing N&R to continue this practice. I am glad they got it right this time.

By the way, News and Record reporters and editors (I don't doubt) read the posts on this site.
