i agree with your assessment, jazz. i think you're exactly right, at least based on the stats i've seen of coastal. run, run, run, and play action pass is probably why their pass completion percentage was so high in their first two games. i'm hopeful that our offense can sustain long drives and keep our defense fresh for the long haul.
i think this will be the first game this season where we can really judge our coaches' ability to game plan. they've probably got plenty of footage on coastal and they've had an extra week to prepare. coastal might be a little banged up and tender this week after getting pushed around by georgia last week.
we should be as healthy as we could've expected this time of year. guys should have fresh legs after a bye week, so i'm hoping for the best...

Head Coach David Bennett Press Conference (North Carolina A&T Week)www.goccusports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092211aaa.htmlI don't know if this guy can coach or not but he does his homework. Coach David Bennett (on N.C. A&T ) "We can get ready for a competition within our level as go play a much improved North Carolina A&T football team. If you look at the glory days of North Carolina A&T football, from 1990-2003, they averaged about eight wins a season. They went to the national playoffs five times within that 14-year span. That's what North Carolina A&T wants to get back to, to the glory days, and they are making a huge commitment to get that program going in the right direction, and by hiring Coach Broadway, they did a great job." Coach David Bennett (on the upcoming game): "North Carolina A&T is back home off of a loss with an open date. They've had two weeks to get ready for Coastal Carolina. We're licking our wounds, coming off of the Georgia game. So I think it will be a heck of a ball game Saturday afternoon. We're going to North Carolina A&T, we need to go get a win. I promise you, they' are going to try to do everything in their power to win, as well." Chad McField (on N.C. A&T team) "A&T has always been a good team. They've got a new coaching staff, and they've put time and money into their program. We know that they are getting better, but Coach (Jamel) Smith is doing a good job with us right now, working on getting pressure on the quarterback, just keeping us active on the DL. We look forward to a good competition this weekend." Bryan Brooks (on preparing for the N.C. A&T game) "They do have a great team, they have a new coaching staff, their defense is really good. Last time we played them, it was a really good game. They always play us really close, so we've got to be ready and prepare like it is another Georgia week. They have good DL, good linebackers, and as far as I know, they have good secondary as well. We've just got to get ready and bring our best game. They have had two weeks to prepare for us, so they're obviously studying us up hard. We're both coming off of big losses, and we're both going to be hungry for a win."

It looks like Coastal ran the well against Furman, but Catawba held them to 13 yds on 29 attempts. Makes you wonder what to expect. Their longest rush is 17 yds, the longest pass is 52, both against Catawba. It looks like they rotate QBs, (Sr & Jr) both run and pass. They are about equal in rush stats, but one has twice the pass attempts. The other has 3 of the 4 rushing TDs. They each have one passing TD. Their top rusher is a Soph, and also leads the team in catches. Their top receiver is a Soph with only 7 catches but he averages 17 yards per catch. 17 different people have caught the ball, while most of the rushing yardage is shared between the 2 QBs and 2 RBs. One who is from Greensboro, Aaron Jones, Western Guilford. He has the other rushing TD. No significant punt return numbers, averaging about 20 yds on kick returns. 3 of 4 on FGs, all under 30 yds. I think containing the QBs is the key to beating this team. One is listed at 6-5, 230 and the other is listed at 6-1, 205.

CC has a weak running attack. Their QB's are their main ground game mostly . I get so tired of this 33 scholarships vs 60 scholarships junk that some of you keep saying. Look their is only 22 players on the field at a time and I don't no of to many teams that sub every play are platoon their D-Line/O-Line or Back fields ,so cut this 33-66 crap out. CCU IS NOT THAT GOOD A TEAM.

Coastal by 17+ points. We just do not have the depth to compete.

The field will be in good shape. We have a state of the art drainage system that works very well. Looks like more rain today. It's been pouring down here in Charlotte this morning with reports saying it's headed north from here.

Got a call in to the 'Boro just a few minutes ago........ It's raining Chanticleers and BullDogs !!!! If I go to the game maybe I can slip in under the unfinished press box to stay dry.
Attendance prediction...........4,622 Aggies and 314 Chanticleers in da house-total IN ACTUAL attendance, not season ticket holders who don't come, 4,936.

I am going to risk it and make the drive up from Charlotte.

Slippery conditions surprisingly will benefit the team that has the better passing game and gets on the board early. If by chance Kindle can hit them with couple of big pass plays early and maybe a special teams play then pray for a downpour because CCU is not a come from behind offense. Expect a lot fumbles in wet conditions sincde they like that pitch option out of the single back spread.
