The one hour tailgate rule found on the passes was a mistake. The information was not meant for tailgaters, it was meant for the people parking along Sullivan Street. The city likes those cars cleared out for traffic reasons. The Athletic Department is in full support of the tailgaters staying after the game to socialize.

I just got an email from Brian Holloway with this exact same statement so it appears this is in fact the new position of our athletic department on the tailgate issue.
If so, this statement needs to also be disseminated via ncat.edu and ncataggies.com in order to minimize any further confusion with our fanbase.

Did the tailgaters voiced their complaint to AD Hilton? If the answer is yes, then AD Hilton should have sent out letters to the people who have reserved tailgate spots with info above and should have posted an announcement on it's athletic website. If Hilton has not done this then he has failed in communicating with his customers. I hope the letters get to the homes before next Saturday, if they have been sent or will be sent. BTW, why doesn't A&T have an athletic website that is known for providing the latest updated info on athletics and on pre-game info for fans?

That statement still needs to be clarified a bit further.
Since the question was initially raised about just how long tailgaters can stay in the lot, there needs to be announcement on the when folks have to finally depart. Right now it just seems like tailgaters can stay in the lot indefinitely and we know that's not the case.

When have you known Aggies to stay out at the stadium indefinitely on Saturday after the game?? Folks start packing up and get ready to hit up the Sheraton or other spots eventually. It starts thinning out anywhere between 6 and 8. Again...if there has never been a problem, why the desire to post an official statement on when folks have to pack up? I am glad this was just a case of miscommunication, but neither the university nor department can ill afford to continue the rash of miscommunication or NO communication when it comes to policies and initiatives.
