bigpeete1...VUL had a talented squad. They weren't very well conditioned or coached. I dare say...I'd match VUL's talent up against anyone in the CIAA, with the exception of WSSU. I think we will be fine over time. We will continue to get better each week...which is an improvement. For years our season bank on whether or not we beat a team early on our schedule (ie. NCCU & WSSU). Once we lost, the season was gone. Look at last season...we were playing tough up to NCCU...once we lost to them, it was blow out city baby...oh had a Dick Vitale moment.

The play Edward Waters in week 5 it might turn out different. Not saying they have terrible coaches per say, but when you have only 1 month with ALL new players what can you do.

Most OF VULs players came from the semipro ranks and if any of you have played are know someone that has played . Conditioning is not a big deal.

I know plenty. and yeah, if your talking about a CB or RB or WR those guys can step back in the game and be good after a month of conditioning. Same cant be said for a lineman that has sat out a year or 2 from football and starts conditioning 1 month prior to the season and still has an offense/defense to learn. VUL was tired in the 2nd half.

I wonder why coach Broadway came to A&T. They are in horrible shape. Now i understand why Maynor(WSSU AGGIE GRAD )turn down the job. THANKS! 275 K per year in his home state.

The Professor you hit it on the head!!! Also I would like to add this . If Broadway turns this program around and gets the APR above 930. He can move on to bigger and better things.

I tell you what give any good coach would love to have VUL's talent and he'd probably have the whole CIAA nervous. Not to say the coach isn't good, but they aren't disciplined....way too many penalties. They can't beat a high school playing with no disciplined. Had those athletes gone through a college offseason conditioning program, we'd might be doing some flower-bringing and slowing singing around here.

VUL has to get into the NCAA first. I am not sure there will be a football program at VUL in 3 years. Currently VUL doesn't even have the infrastructure to join the NCAA. It would behoove VUL to bring in a NCAA consultant to form the proper athletic administration and then apply to the NCAA. I know someone has posted that VUL has applied to the NCAA but I doubt that very seriously.
