my suggestion is to seek out a sponsor for homecoming who is willing to finance the purchase of 22,000 gold aggie t-shirts to distribute to "everyone" attending the homecoming game. you see this being done in the nba and major college basketball a lot. there would be gold t-shirts throughout the entire "soldout" aggie stadium and it would be a beautiful sight to see! how does the sponsor get a return on their investment? well, on the back of the t-shirts they can put a big ole advertising logo of their company and everywhere those 22,000 people go that day they will be advertising that company. i really think the idea would work and i think a major company would be willing to do it. it would create a lot of aggie pride and a lot of our folk would continue to wear their gold aggie t-shirts at future aggie games. i would think a company could purchase 22,000 t-shirts at a discount because of the quantity being purchased. i'm guessing they could probably purchase them for about $3 or $4 per t-shirt... if this couldn't be done for homecoming due to the noted "fashion issues," how about NCCU or SCSU when we have them at home? I know this year, those games are late in the season, but you could still hand out the t-shirts. wave them like the terrible towels or something!

aggielove, i haven't been to a homecoming in a few years but i thought the days of "dress to impress" at aggie homecomings were over. i mean, i'm sure there's still a few who still "dress to impress", but i don't think the vast majority does.
if the t-shirt thing can be done, i don't think folks' outfits will be an issue accept for a select few. when ya purchase t-shirts for a bunch of folk, you try to get sizes that are too large so that everyone can at least put one on. i'll already have on gold, so it wouldn't impact me.
but yeah, if homecoming folk feel they're too pretty to wear a t-shirt over their clothes, i suppose it could be done at the nccu game instead. but the only problem with the nccu game is that it's scheduled for the very last week of the season which probably will be the coldest day of the season. folk may be wearing coats by then...

I loooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee the t-shirt idea! But you guys do have a point though us ladies do wear the brand new outfits for homecoming but if you're a tru Aggie Woman you look good in whatever you wear so bring on the t-shirts. Maybe the same thing should be done for the NCCU game but maybe that can be Blue!

The tailgate rule where we have to be out of the tailgate area 1 hour after the game is over is unfair and stupid. I have been a tailgater since back in the early 90's before it even got popular and we have never had any problems or shootings to warrant this stupid rule. This has become a popular tradition at A&T and the fans love to tailgate. This has become part of our athletic culture and I think it is very unfair to institute a rule of this nature. We don't have much to look forward to except football and tailgating and now the University is trying to screw that up. You already have taken the festive style out of Homecoming by making all of the vendors be at that nasty looking old stadium 100 miles away from the stadium. This sucks also. Don't ruin the last really festive atmosphere (tailgating) that we have for such a screwed up rule. I hate to tell you this but I don't believe you can tow all of those cars in the tailgate area if they refuse to obey this dumb a$$ rule. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". The University has gone to far!!

Now when you say suggestions is it to early to talk basketball. I suggest if we have another sub par year and I am talking about .500 or below in wins that we change coaches. I am from the 60's and I know the tradition that we have had in basketball as far as winnings, championships, players, coaching and pride. It ain't like that now. This sub par basketball for the last dozen years has gone too far and we need a change right away if it happens again this year. Tired of it!!!

On the t-shirt idea, I watched Michigan play ND last night. The fans were all given maize (yellow) pom-poms to wave. This created the atmosphere and people were still able to wear whatever. That might work for us.

the fan zone ticket should not be the game day ticket also... a&t should charge 10-15 dollars to get in the fan zone... & when we play nccu wssu & homecoming.. charge 20-25 dollars to get in the fan zone...
just think about the money that could have been made in the fan zone if we had played wssu instead of vul...
charging to get in the fan zone is a good idea... but i think aggies are going to boycott being forced to by a game ticket when they have no interest in going inside the stadium... all alot of people want to do is just socialize...

Tired of it!!! when are you going to get enough of changing coaches.. it gets you no where.. except a fball team that can't win on the field & in the classroom... if you are that concearned about bball why not demand that bball is funded in the top 3 or 5 in the meac... i have no problem with mens bball now that i know that they are funded for last... i mean their apr is good.. they make the school money.. & they beat teams our fball team will never beat.. but no one in dowdy has figured it out... if mens ball were funded to finish 1st.. they would make the school alot more money...

The University has gone to far!! A&T had nothing to do with moving the vendors to Memorial Stadium. You can thank then City Council member Tom Phillips for that . All of the local black politicians Earl Jones ,Skip Alston ,and Alma Adams fought against this idea. I think extending the time limit to be out of the parking lot to 2 hours would be a good idea.

I agree that it should be extended to maybe 2 hours, but the notion that people should be able to stay as long as they want to is unreal.

The tailgate rule where we have to be out of the tailgate area 1 hour after the game is over is unfair and stupid. Is this a new rule?? Man that sucks!! At least drop it back to two or three hours. After homecoming folks post up for a while, toss back a few, and rekindle the old days. Telling us we got to bounce after one hour is going to kill all of that. Hell it takes some folks a half an hour to an hour just to pack up, which means they will need to close shop RIGHT after the game. Who's coming up with these rules?? What's the impetus behind them?? Have there been previous security issues or drama associated with extended tailgates that we have not been aware of in the past?
