What can I say? The government loves non-threatening black children.
I wonder how many tailgaters VUL will bring?

Maybe with the new rule some of those people that "support" the team will actually SUPPORT the team (financially).

His statement is a bit backwards. If his people have always supported the team through good and bad then it shouldn't be an issue to purchase a ticket. hahaha, glad to see you guys taking my quote and running with it. What i said to the reporter was about the increase of cost for people to bring their love ones in the game. I have to have season books to have a tailgate spot. but now , instead of 2 .... i have to make sure everyone has a pass or ticket. A tax if you will , even though i have always supported. Those were my words

I think it would go a long way with some people if they did something like this:
-- For every season ticket you buy you get 5(tailgate only) passes for the tailgate area to use at any game. Use all 5 one game or 1 at each. Yall get what I'm saying. that would eliminate the whole, "well my wife comes and doesn't go in" or " I would come but my homeboy doesn't want to go in the game". You have a tailgate pass for each home game, hand them out wisely.
It would also eliminate riff raft from just coming and hanging out without paying or knowing a season ticket holder. It would also assure that people in the tailgate area are at least supporting the program financially in SOME type of way. You know or are related to a season ticket holder or you paid to be there. Thats about as fare as it gets. It would at least make people like Professor who brings family a little less cash strapped and people who bring children that dont go in.

The problem with that idea is you would have to have two (2) levels of security . One at the game zone entrance , and another at the stadium entrance gates . And even though you say they would still be supporting financially in SOME type of way, if the person purchasing season tickets is given the passes for the same price as the season tickets how is that supporting financially.

Really, you would only need 1 layer of security if you need a game ticket to access either area. If you have a ticket, maybe you will then be able to flow freely between the game and tailgate area, which might be nice.

Oh man, i feel like were in a time warp... Are we really gonna rehash this argument?
Game Zone makes perfect money sense and idiotic fanbase sense. All the things we need for this team other than revenue will be defeated be charging for the "experience".

I'd say the Game Zone was a success. Attendance was 11,659 against a VUL team no one ever heard of. In contrast, our first game vs. JC Smith in 2008 had an attendance of 11,552. I also thought the ticket staff did a great job of explaining the policy and getting everyone inside the gate. In my opinion everything was perfectly executed.

Props to Earl Hilton and his staff for making this new policy as painless as possible.
They probably need to still lower ticket prices at some point, but this new Game Zone deal could have been a whole lot worse.
