Come on Aggie2ru...that's not what he's (oleschool) saying and I'm sure he'd respond but we just had an earthquake in the DC area and folk are probably trying to get home. But, back to the subject, he's just saying that if you are in support of your program, then you are in support of it. Plain and simple...doesn't mean you will agree with everything or decision they make, but for the most part, you are on-board. But, reading your post can be mis-leading because it sounds as if you are not going to support the team because of WHO they have on the schedule not because you've already scheduled a vacation. If your choice is to boycott this game because WHO we are playing then, that does call loyalty into question to some degree. If I had my way, we'd be playing Winston, Tenn. St. and Jackson State every year. But they aren't on the schedule so what...don't go to anymore games until they show up on the schedule again??? That's not practical nor realistic. It's understandable it was a bad scheduling year for us but, you should support through the ups and downs...this year we waited way too late to put together our football schedule. So, we wound up having very few schools to choose from for the Sept. 3rd date.
I said all that to say...A&T needs your support more now than ever before. However, I do understand vacation plans for Labor Day.

Yeah, it was an interesting day here in the DC area. I hope all is well.
I think OSA has said a number of times that he hasn't been to Homecoming in a number of years because he didn't want to see us lose. Don't the players need support on Homecoming, shouldn't "true aggie supporters" show up then also.
I find it interesting how people think yelling "Aggie Pride" or "Go Aggie Go" over a rail at a football game is considered being a "true aggie supporters". I don't think that narrow definition will pass mustard with most Real Aggies.
You, OSA or anybody else can question my loyalty, but what you will find is that you are severely lacking financially, and in sweat equity for NCAT. It's not where you stand on gameday, it's where stand day in and day out in support of A&T.
OSA started his post with the peeps in glass houses, which were it should have ended. When did he become the Aggie loyalty police? What is he going to do stamp all "true aggie supporters" when they arrive at the stadium on 9/3? SMH at the thought process.

My thing is this.......Very few people make ALL the games, I think very FEW can make that statement because it is somewhat unrealistic for MOST, especially year after year. That being said, I think it was a desparate REACH to try and classify ANYONE as a "true aggie supporter". What kind of authority does ANYONE have to make that distinction?? NONE that I know of!!!! Yes, I have been on record as saying that I think the game is NOT one we should be playing FOR OBVIOUS reasons. If we were playing WSSU, Elon, Grambling, or the Green Bay Packers I may have chosen to not to take an out of town trip. However, because this exhibition (er, ugh game) was scheduled I will now only make 10 games instead of 11 games. Thus, in the eyes of some, I guess "true aggie supporters" have to attend ALL eleven games. Maybe next year I can do better!!!! But, again, NC A&T State University CAN and SHOULD do better than Sept. 3rd and I will believe that until I am AGGIE DEAD!!!!!!!

And I don't think that they are financially strapped as some may think. besides who are we to talk about what wasting money are who is wasting money on a program.? We have to get the AGGIE house in order first don't you think?? It maybe a better game then we expect ?? Has anyone looked at it this way that this maybe THEIR Appalachian State-Michigan game? A&T has NAME RECOGNITION.

One thing (basically the only thing) about their program that's clear to me is that they intend to kick our @ss come September, and they're not held to the same rules and restrictions that we are. I don't know about their financial ability to follow through, but it makes for an interesting first opponent.

When did he become the Aggie loyalty police? What is he going to do stamp all "true aggie supporters" when they arrive at the stadium on 9/3? SMH at the thought process. first of all 77, please let me "reiterate" what i originally stated. again, these were my "exact" unedited words. "for those who refuse to attend this game because of who we're playing, i absolutely respect your right to do so 100%." sometime folk only comprehend what they choose to comprehend, so i wanted to reiterate that statement to make myself perfectly clear. secondly, in case you don't know, i live in the washington, dc area. and even though i purchase 2 season tickets every year, i "never" go to every home football game and have "never" intended to go to every home football game because its not practical for me to do so in terms of my budget, travel time, and my personal schedule. so as a result, i always "choose" to only go to a maximum of 3 aggie home games based on my personal budget, time, and schedule. i think that's rather commendable considering my 5 hour one way commute. however, i always donate the cost of 2 game tickets to the athletic department for whatever two or three aggie home games i don't attend every year. so, no matter what, i'm only gonna attend 2 or 3 aggie home games every year regardless. its not feasible for me to go to them all. that being said, i "choose" which 2 or 3 i'll go to each year based on convenience and preference, not who we play. now, it just so happens that for the last several years, i've chosen to donate my tickets for homecoming because i "chose" that game as one of the two or three home games that i will not attend. why did i chose that as one of the games i won't be attending? because we haven't won homecoming in many years and it spoils my ability to enjoy the rest of the festivities when we lose that game. but i still support it financially. so, since i'm gonna miss 2 or 3 home games anyway, i "choose" that game as one of the games i'll miss. that's not the same as choosing not to support the program just because we're pissed about who we're playing. however, i still "willingly" pay for two homecoming tickets regardless to whether i go or not. so i still support the game. and, a&t certainly doesn't suffer from lack of attendance at homecoming games like we would in our home opener against an unpopular team. homecoming games always sellout. besides, this year i've chosen to attend the homecoming game. so its a mute point...

I'll say this and I'm done...I think everyone on this board supports A&T the best way they see fit. Having said that, supporting the program doesn't mean you agree with all decisions that are made. Now, everyone can't just pick up their checkbook and write a check for 10 G's...so they do the best they can by way of support. So at the end of the day, we all support in the best way we see fit whether that's financially or morally. I'll tell you what I'm doing for the first game by way of support...I'm going to round up all my uncles that support NCCU and I'm bringing them to our game. They play Rutgers on Thursday 9/1/11. We could use their monies too.
Now, on to VUL, they are doing exactly what any other program that's just starting their football program. They are trying to get the best players they can, unfortunately, they don't have many guidelines to follow so, they may be up at Rykers Island recruiting players to get the best player they can. I can't say I would do that, but I don't blame them. See Central State of Ohio in the early 90's...they were recruiting out of the prison farm team system. They were dayum good too.

But you also said this, " and if ya really want to know who the true aggie supporters are, you'll see us at aggie stadium supporting our football team on 9/3. This is the issue, unless you don't see the contradiction between your two statements, and that wouldn’t be surprising.
In case you don't know you don't get to define "true aggie supporters" and it's definitely not limited to those in attendance on 9/3. You also seem to define others as less than "true aggie supports" for their reasons for not attending Aggie games, in this case, the opponent. Somehow you are able to process in your mind that your reasons for not attending games are acceptable. Do you see the contradiction, probably not?
Your attempt to humiliate, shame, embarrass, or whatever your motive is; is unnecessary, counter-productive and absolutely classless towards Aggies who give time and/or money to the University. Do actually understand what you saying? Aren’t you the guy in previous threads that objected to this type of tactic of getting people involved? I guess that another contradiction.

I wont be at the VUL game. Mainly because I have a trip planned, but if the opponent was better I would not have scheduled my trip or worked something out. I'm not even addressing the "true aggie supporter" statement cause if you have over 100 post on this board you shouldn't even be questioned.
With that being said. I still think this will be a cCRUSHING victory for us. Your talking about players who didn't work out together all summer. They are coming together on 8/5 with a month to prepare. Most either haven't played college ball before or have taken a year or two off. Even if they were their over the spring and summer they didn't even have an on-campus weight room. They can pull in 20 old men, but they will still have 30 freshman to practice and play with.
Unless their staff is a real beast they just wont be ready for us. If they do beat or hang with us we will be in for a long season anyway.

This is my opinion and I know I am not a king, not even for a day but I think at time when financial support from alumni, state and federal governments will become harder and harder to get, individuals and especially black institutions need to spend their money wisely and get the biggest bang for their bucks for a prosperous future. I don't see a football program at a small black baptist college in a white southern town will get you that positive "bang". I will add to a lesser degree, I don't see it for A&T, either. We are just stuck on a tradition that hasn't worked out for A&T going on two decades.

well i'll be the 1st to state the obvious. it's clear from this discussion that we're all anxious for the season. this first game has a lot of implications and a lot of unknowns. it would behoove us as a team to be over-prepared versus underprepared. either way, truths will be told in a week's time. i'm praying our truth is a "w"...

I think we will be prepared...now whether or not we win, I don't know. But, if we lose, it won't be due to lack of preparation.
