Aggies return 18 starters from 2006
GREENSBORO, July 31, 2007 – North Carolina A&T football returns this week with the start of training camp this week. The Aggies report to camp Thursday, August 2 for physicals, conditioning test and team meetings. The Aggies first practice is scheduled for Friday, August 3 at 3:30 p.m. Two-a-days begin Monday, August 6.
Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference coaches and sports information directors picked the Aggies to finish ninth in the conference in 2007 following a season in which the Aggies went winless. But the Aggies return 18 starters from last season as their young talent matured quickly from playing a lot of minutes in 2006.
“It starts with the coaches,’’ said head football coach Lee Fobbs. “If we’re positive and upbeat, the players are going to be positive and up beat. We’ve put last year behind us and we’re looking forward to make this a successful program.”
Media and fans will get to meet the Aggies on Saturday, August 18 starting at noon in the Aggie Stadium Parking Lot and the Fitness and Wellness Center. S.C. State was picked to win the MEAC followed by Hampton, Delaware State, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Morgan State, Norfolk State and Howard.
“We play in a very tough league so we believe we have to take the processes of rebuilding one step at time,’’ said Fobbs at annual MEAC Media Day last Friday. “We have added some players on offense and defense that we believe add speed to our team. But we are about team at A&T. If one player or coach is not getting it done, then we are not moving forward.”

We must be some serious nut jobs. How many fans of an 0-11 team would be this excited about the upcoming season?

I'm hip! If you are about the royal blue and gold, you got to be up for this season. We all should be excited about the program getting turned back around.

The team will be practicing again on Saturday, August 4th at 3 PM.
Disregard that nonsense about practices being closed to the public. Any team that finished 0-11 last season should be happy fans still care enough to come see them.

I witnessed practice yesterday and I was really impress with the flow of the practice. It was non stop for 2 1/2 hours and the strength and conditioning coach is no joke. He was killing them after practice was over running and not really giving them a chance to rest. This team will definitely be in shape this season.

Sorry I missed you there yesterday, Kev.
Did you get a chance to take any pictures?

I did not get a chance to take pictures cause I was watching the practice from the top of the heel. They had the gate lock and the fence would have been in the way. I will try again next time when I go out there and hopefully take them from top of the visitor stands.
