I don't care how tough we play App. State, if they win they will not drop out the top 25. They may drop a few slots but, not out. But, I think we'll win...I ain't scared of the bastards! OOps scuse me!

Trust me if we beat App State they are out of the top 25. It may not be for long but they are out. Now if we make it close they will drop down. This you can count on.

Central gave App hell 3 years ago. I'm talking into the 3rd and 4th quarter hell. It can be done, i don't even think Central had their best team that year either. I urge all to go. On a beautiful day, there is no prettier place to be on a football Saturday than in Boone.

Yea Central was actually leading the game going into the second quarter. Without looking it up Central was up something like 17 to 10 and it stayed a 7 point game until late 3rd qtr

I don't know what game you guys are talking about but NCCU never played App State close. I think it was the 2009 game where NCCU led 14-7 after 1 quarter but after that it pretty much looked like one of our games vs. Bethune Cookman. I think ASU won 55-21 and had close to 700 yards in offense. The game was not as close as the score would indicate. It was over before halftime.

Heres the arcticle I guess people can form their own opinions as to whether it was a close game or not. Although I will stick with my first initial statement. App scored 4 touchdowns (28 points) in the 4th QTr. The game was 27 -17 through the 3rd qtr. App's depth did Central in during the 4th qtr. This looked nothing like A&T vs. BCU games!!!
North Carolina Central University silenced a sellout homecoming crowd with a seven-point lead at the end of the first quarter, but the ninth-ranked Mountaineers of Appalachian State University scored 27 unanswered points over the next two quarters to cruise to a 55-21 victory inside Kidd Brewer Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 10).
The Mountaineers posted a field goal and another touchdown in the third quarter, before NCCU struck again with a 44-yard touchdown catch by Andrew Johnson to make the deficit 34-21 with 14:28 left in the contest.
ASU pulled away with three more touchdowns, including a three-yard rush with only 13 seconds remaining

The game was 34-14 through three quarters. ASU scored 3 more in the 4th quarter. Anytime a team racks up 407 yards rushing to thier opponents 5 yards rushing you can call it a rout. Anytime a team gains a total of 644 yards in total offense and doesn't even have a punt the entire game you can call it a rout. After the first quarter this one was very, very lopsided. www.goasu.com//pdf5/648318.pdf?SPSID=104458&SPID=12811&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=21500

This you can count on. no way a team will go from being ranked #1 in the country to not being ranked at all just because of a single loss (assuming they won't drop in the polls after losing to va tech). i don't think that's ever happened in history. i could see them dropping out of the top 10, but not out of the rankings all together...

We will agree to diasagee but as the article states App. scored 4 touchdowns in the 4th !!
In addition, I have seen many games were a team dominated the stats and lost the game.

Again I say if we up set App state They will drop out of the top 25. A (1-10) team from the year before up-sets the #1 team on their home field . Their is no way they can stay in the top 25.

App. State will....they'd have to lose 3 or 4 in row to drop completely out. They have too much Top 25 credibility to drop out after 1 loss, no matter who it is to on the same division level.

For them to drop out of the Top 25 they would need to lose to VT by 80 points and us by 50 points. And thats not going to happen. (basically get blown out in both games)
Even if they lost to VT by 45 points and lost a close game to us they would fall out of the the top 10 but not out of top 25 all together. In this scneario they would fall to 15 - 20 spots.
