(oleschoolaggie:Anthony Carrothers may be Transferring !! My homeboy at Grambling called me and I asked FOR THE 411 on Anthony Carrothers and he informed me that the reason Doug came back to Grambling was to coach his son, Doug Williams III, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound quarterback >(http://articles.dailypress) At Grambling, it’s the other way around: Williams largely kept former coach Rod Broadway’s defensive staff in place, but the offense features a group of young unknowns.
And yes, if you’re wondering, Doug’s son, freshman D.J. Williams, is the starting quarterback.
He spent last year at Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy, where he completed 72 of 102 passes for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns, then came to Grambling.
After sophomore Anthony Carrothers transferred to Winston-Salem State this summer, the team had three freshman quarterbacks to choose from, and D.J. Williams was the only one of them who’d been through spring practice.
“I think that in itself kind of gave him a thumb up,” Doug Williams said.
He also grew up with a pretty deep knowledge about long-running SWAC rivalries.

Also, "Funky B's" defensive coordinator from last year chose to stay at Grambling because of a personal matter regarding the health of a relative. I'm pretty sure Yosida wuda made da move back to the 'Boro if that had not occurred.

Sometimes things work out for you even when if that was never figured into the the end result. We miss out on Yoshida but we get a legend in Coach "Bull" Resse instead in this exchange.

The defensive coordinator is Sam Washington though...correct? He's no slouch either. He knows what he's doing as well. I tell you they have the formula...it's a matter of beginning the process of stockpiling the talent. How long....not long!

ohsixrain......I think you are right because my man told me that "Bull" Resse was basically retired but came out to assist "Funky B" and the AGGIES as a "defensive consultant." My man says he has been on the practice field a couple weeks now. Sam is a good coach no doubt about it and is the DC from what I hear.

How long....not long! ohsixrain, that's the one thing that gives me hope for the future and even for this season. broadway indeed has an impressive staff and superior coaching can improve the productivity of our entire team. if guys come out of nowhere this season and suddenly have career years, we'd be like, where da hail did he come from? if that happens, that'll show how much difference superior coaching makes...

We have the package! I feel that we will get the productivity from the team. If they play injury free this season are most of it things will be just fine!! Let me be the first to say " Hallelujah Broadway" Hallelujah!!
