I believe this was posted earlier, but I'm watching the AFL Playoffs and look who is calling the plays for the Philadelphia Soul. I know he was coaching QBs at Fayetteville State awhile back. He sure would look nice sitting in the press box at Aggie Stadium Connell Maynor Offensive Coordinator Biography: Connell Maynor is entering his first season with the Philadelphia Soul as the offensive coordinator. He is in his first season on the field as a coach after ending his AFL career with the Philadelphia Soul in 2006. Maynor ended his playing career as the only player in AFL history serving as a quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker and kick return specialist. He is the only player in the AFL to record more than 5,000 passing yards, 500 receiving yards, 400 rushing yards, and 400 yards in kickoff returns in his career. Throughout his 12 year career, Maynor played for multiple teams, including the Philadelphia Soul, Orlando Predators, Carolina Cobras, New Jersey Gladiators, New York Cityhawks and the Tampa Bay Storm. Of those teams, he was a part of three ArenaBowl Championships ƒË¡¦95, ¡¦96-Tampa Bay, ¡¦98, ¡¦00-OrlandoƒÍ. In 2003, he set career-highs in every passing category while completing 235-of-400 passes for 3,167 yards with 54 touchdowns despite 10 interceptions. Maynor attended North Carolina A&T where he was named MEAC Player of the Year in both 1990 and 1991. While a member of the Aggies he passed for 1,527 yards and 18 touchdowns, while rushing for 288 yards and eight touchdowns. He led his team to a 9-2 record his senior year and currently resides in Orlando.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
The question is how money is he making in Philly and does he have a legitimate shot at getting a job in the NFL.

If we give him an good enough offer why would he turn it down? ?? He was the man in the early 90's.......... We could go after him, all he could say is yes or no......... Either way atleast we could say we tried to get him!!!!!!

I believe "B" asked that question a few months ago and was advised by someone on the board that Maynor continues to coach at Fayetteville State at seasons end in AFL.

OurSports Central contributor Fran Stuchbury recently interviewed Philadelphia Soul offensive coordinator Connell Maynor at Soul media day. Maynor spent time with six different teams, including two stints with the Orlando Predators, and won four ArenaBowl titles during his playing career. Fran Stuchbury: What interested you in taking the offensive coordinator job with the Philadelphia Soul?
Connell Maynor: It's just my passion, I played the game 13 years. I coached college football also. I always wanted to coach in the AFL and the opportunity to be offensive coordinator was here so I jumped on it. Hopefully in the future I can be a head coach in the AFL. FS: How is your relationship with Philadelphia Soul head coach Brett Munsey?
CM: My relationship with Munsey is great. We were together with the Orlando Predators so I have known him for a long time. We're like brothers on and off the field. He's got defense and the overall scope of everything, and I got offense.
FS: How has the team progressed in training camp so far?
CM: I think we are coming along pretty good. We have a lot of new faces, but I think they are catching on to the game pretty good.
FS: You played with the New York CityHawks who played their games at Madison Square Garden. How was that experience?
CM: It was great. We didn't sell it out a lot. New York is so big, and the CityHawks were a new team in the AFL. We got some decent crowds there, and it was great to play in Madison Square Garden.
FS: Was the highlight of your playing career leading the Orlando Predators to the ArenaBowl XIV championship over the Nashville Kats?
CM: Of course, I got four championship rings, one when I was a starter. I was the MVP of ArenaBowl XIV. I have to say that is the highlight of my career, leading that team and winning that ArenaBowl.
FS: Does free substitution take away most of the versatility, with fewer players playing both offense and defense?
CM: You still have great athletes. They won't be able to show it as much as we did in the past. We will still have a couple of guys who will play both ways in injury situations but for the most part, it will be like the big game in the NFL and guys will go one way.
FS: Would you be interesting in going to af2 as a head coach or do you consider that a step down?
CM: I think I got enough experience and know well enough that I don't need to go down to af2 to be a head coach. I think that would be a step down for me and I don't want to go that route.
If you have any questions or comments about this interview feel free to drop me an email at arenazone@yahoo.com and I will be more than happy to get back to you.

I think he'd take the o.c. position if offered for the right price. When people ask you what your goal is you tailor it for the area you're speaking. If it was the News and Register interviewing him he'd probably say he'd love to come back to A&T.
