You teased us....I want to hear what else he said.....later this week. He mentioned no players in particular...which kind of surprised me! Thanks for the first part....

That was a nice read. I sure hope for all of our sake that we see improvement this year. I'm still thinking that Demerick Chancellor is worth a couple of victories by himself. I think he's that talented.

I was glad to hear that he was so appreciative of our online fundraiser and felt that it would really make a difference.
He told me at the end of the interview that he was willing to do anything he could to help us get the word out and increase donations.
Maybe we can feature him in PSA or something that we can run on youtube.

I really like the fact that he has already made 10-15 in-state offers for 2008. I don't know what he expects his offers/signings ratio to be but this is encouraging. Looking forward to Part 2.

It makes me optimistic against my better judgment for this year. Can we really make a turnaround from embarassment to respectability in one short year? Reading that makes me believe we can. I like the fact that he's offered around a dozen guys already as well. I like that they seem to know they'll have to counteract lack of size with speed to the ball and disciplined defense. That's what won us our last meac championship. So long as the meac coaches still refuse to come into a game with more than one game plan and their first game plan isn't to run it up the gut all game long, we should see a nice turnaround defensively.
I remember watching team after team run up the gut at will on our '03 team only to start trying to get cute and run outside after about two attempts and get stuck three yards behind the line of scrimmage. For the life of me I've never understood why meac coaches are so intent on going away from something that works.
I hope he's got some tricks up his sleeve for the o-line. Take my advice, cut 'em as low as you legally can.

If he's already targeted 10-15 recruits for next season, imagine the added impact our $20,000 will have.
Time to get this fundraiser revved up again and help Fobbs out.

Sounds like Fobbs is about his work when it comes to recruiting! Like you say, with an additional $20k, I believe he can bring in some home run hitters!

Great interveiw (part 1)! I think everyone is starting to realize the significance of BDF. Way to go Alexander's "Old-Man".

I think the fundraising dollars could go a long way toward the type of in-state recruiting Fobbs described. If an average in-state recruiting trip is say $200 (Gas, Hotel, Meals), then we've already made way for 13 additional trips. With at least 2-3 high schools per trip that could equate to 26 school visits. There are over 400 high schools in North Carolina. The current roster has kids from 37 different North Carolina high schools. If Fobbs can establish a solid relationship with 100-150 schools, that would solidify the in-state base.
