I know this is a tough question because a blind man can see what kinda shape we have BEEN in every sport except WBB. Track under "Space" did well w/individual performers. Softball has had some good days....But would someone list the next team to win a MEAC champoionship other than WBB? Hard isn't it or is it??? That's how far we have dropped off the radar!

Even though Bethune Cookman is a powerhouse, I would have to say Baseball is the next closest.

we have amongst the "worst" athletic departments in the meac. hate to admit it, but true. sad, just sad.
other than wbb, what's our next best hope? in my opinion, we have no other serious "championship contenders" in our athletic department. softball is too young and baseball has its hands tied.
a&t doesn't value athletics like hampton does. we treat athletics as a necessary evil, not as an aspect of college that brings value to the university. where's the proof? how 'bout 4 of our athletic teams having winless or near winless seasons within the last decade? that would be a&t athletics. do you know of any other d1 hbcu that has done as bad?

Right now we're at rock bottom as far as athletics go. From this point things can only get better. Realistically we're gonna have to wait a few years to see improvement across the board.

A&T doesn't have prayer to win the MEAC. Currently there are four MEAC teams ranked nationally and Univ of Md Eastern Shore just won the national title last week, it's 2nd title in four years. A&T was a nationally top 10 ranked bowling team 6 years ago and then the program was defunded, left to wither on the vines.

I agree it will take a few years with growing pains. Alumni will have to support its sports teams because with the state budget cuts and increased cost, A&T will need us more than ever. A&T will not win conference championships without adequate funding. Aggie Pride!!!!!!!!

I not sure the WBB program can maintain their level of excellent under the current funding profile for the Athletic Department. Expenses have increased significantly and all discretionary revenue will be funneled into football. Add to the fact that at least three other MEAC schools have put out signs that they can't wait for A&T to come to town or to come to Corbett. Plus there’s a bit of instability in the Women’s program right now.
The only other program that stands a chance is football, only because everybody is on the bandwagon to achieve success and they are at least three years away. The other programs don’t stand a chance they are operating at the bare minimum and will require divine intervention to acquire multiple HOF athletes to sniff a championship.
