MEAC Announces 2007 Football Television Lineup By Jun 21, 2007
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2007 football television schedule Thursday afternoon. As part of the league’s agreement with ESPNU, the network will air six regular-season games beginning on Saturday, September 15.
The 2007 MEAC television schedule includes three Thursday night games and five Saturday games. Defending MEAC Champions Hampton will appear in two televised games against North Carolina A&T (Sept. 15) and Morgan State (Sept. 20).
“We are very pleased with the football television schedule for the 2007 season, “said MEAC Commissioner Dennis Thomas. “ From all indications this will be an exciting season with the championship being contested down to the final regular-season game. We encourage our fans to attend the games and tune in to our exciting television schedule.”
Florida A&M will open the season on September 1 at 2 p.m. in the MEAC-SWAC Challenge against Southern University. The Rattlers will also face off against South Carolina State on October 13th and will close out the regular-season in an ESPN Classic televised event on November 17th against Bethune-Cookman in the annual Florida Classic.
Other games on the ESPNU television schedule include: Norfolk State at North Carolina A&T (Sept. 27), Bethune-Cookman at Delaware State (Oct. 4) and Howard at Norfolk State (Oct. 27).

Has Time Warner added ESPNU as part of the basic package yet(in Raleigh)? I heard they were.

I think Norfolk would have brought 3-5 K fans on a Saturday compared to 1-2 on Thursday night

I think Norfolk would have brought 3-5 K fans on a Saturday compared to 1-2 on Thursday night More seats for OUR students/alumni and fans. Let's not worry about how the visiting teams fans will affect our attendance. National exposure is a good thing. It's up to Fobbs and company to take advantage of it.

I was told that Time Warner would be adding ESPNU around September. You may want to check and verify that again. I was told that back in May by the conference office.

National exposure can be a bad thing when you get the crap kicked out of you like we did the last two times against BCU.

Has Time Warner added ESPNU as part of the basic package yet(in Raleigh)? I heard they were. “Time Warner Cable has reached an agreement with ESPNU to add the channel to its digital cable package beginning on Aug. 31, one day before the opening round of Saturday games. Cable customers in the Triangle and most of the North Carolina market will have an option to add the channel to their service.
Triangle area Time Warner customers will need to have the digital package to get ESPNU on digital channel 140.”

Don't they remember the last time Hampton came down? Wasn't that the first time we were on ESPNU? Weren't we in the SportsCenter Top 10 twice for all the wrong reasons? Norfolk State, first nationally televised "W"

National exposure can be a bad thing when you get the crap kicked out of you like we did the last two times against BCU. Still a good thing. Remember how upset this board and I'm sure every Aggie you talked to was after that game? That's what will create change, if need be.

it's hard to believe we are part of the tv package at all.... home-coming should be the game on tv though... guaranteed sell-out would look good on nation-wide tv....
