In another popular thread I listed a bunch of kids that didn't exactly live up to their preseason hype after becoming Aggies. Let's look at the other side of the coin:
Earnest Tinnin:
Around 1993 this kid was a senior leadfooted rocket-armed qb coming out of Burlington Cummings. He actually attended homecoming that year (the infamous Howard game). He ended up going to ECU and I'm not sure that he played a down in five years there. Meanwhile once Maceo graduated he would've had two or three years to take over running the wing-t for Bill. Can anybody name the qb that replaced Maceo Bolin? I sure can't. QB was damn near all we missed once Bolin left.
Jamaal Edwards:
Edwards went to Florida State. I can't fault him for going but I sure can fault him for sitting the bench all them years. I don't think he ever got above third string on the depth chart. Granted he'd be running behind a swiss cheese (or is that swiss miss?) line, but running behind no line might be better than sitting on old pine.
Drew Carter:
"What do you mean DOOMS? He came to A&T and left." Yeah, but last I heard he's sitting the bench at a d-2 in Ohio. Small's biggest mistake was not starting this kid as a freshman. He was probably the most technically sound o-lineman on the team the day he set foot on campus. Had he stayed we probably would've gotten 50 more yards per game offensively.
Mike Brown (I think that's his name):
Yes, I'm talking about the overweight punter from Rockingham that played qb at Carolina. He did get to start his senior year at Carolina but nobody gave a rat's behind about him. His was the worst season Carolina had after Mack Brown had started winning.
CJ Leak:
I can give you Wake Forest, but why transfer to Tennessee? You wasn't never gonna play and A&T would've worshipped you.
Alan Jones:
This juco stud running back was signed and sealed, but he never delivered his a$$ to campus. Had he come aboard we'd have never missed a beat once Hicks went down. I haven't heard a thing about him since the day I heard he hadn't reported to campus.
Duwan Burton:
This kid ended up playing qb (for a while) at Morehouse. As a senior he rode the bench on a piss-poor Morehouse team. He could've done that in Greensboro. At least he'd be closer to home.
George Bell:
A runner from Fayetteville. Went to VA Tech, averaged three yards or less per carry, now headed to Catawba or somewhere. Sheesh.
