Lewis, Editor Posted: Monday, March 21, 2011 12:39 pm Issue headed to April legislative session Louisiana's Board of Regents voted Tuesday to support a consolidation of Southern University at New Orleans and the University of New Orleans under a new management structure. The 9-6 vote of the Board of Regents came against the wishes of Southern University officials, state Democratic leaders, Black legislators, SUNO leaders and students who maintain that merging SUNO and UNO would further limit the educational opportunities available for Black students.... Wow. If this plays out, thee is going to be hell to pay for certain officlas in Louisana in local elections. there is no middle ground to hide behind on this one.
