That was a good try...but close only counts in horseshoes...I'm not going to whine this week, I didn't see the game but, I'm almost sure we had chances to win this one but didn't...so, I'll leave it at that.

Man, i saw the game and it was just as everyone is saying. I think this board finally all agrees.
They had plenty of opportunities and couldn't come up with a way to win. 2 crucial delay of game penalties. Everyone seems to have forgotten about the first one because the 2nd one was sooooo bad/fatal.
Drake an Mayhew went down and our offense fell apart.
They continue to only have 2 plays for Lewis, but actually it's one play. Just a left and right.
Defense played well, but time of possession was almost doubled up by FAMU. Defense cant last that long. The fact that they only gave up 16 in regulation was pretty good considering..
Ultimately a missed extra point cost us the game.
The decision to leave hurt players in the game reared it's ugly head for the 2nd week in a row. Hines was clearly hurt and could not plant his foot to throw the ball. That's why he threw 2 ints. While I can KIND OF see trying to stay with Hines in regulation, we would have been better off with Lewis at QB in overtime rolling him out with a option to run every play.

After Miles catch and run in overtime, the refs were conferring on whether or not he scored. The play clock was running while they conferred. By the time they decided where the ball was to be put, it was already close to zero. It was not the coaches fault in this case. One of the refs (really two of them) is suppose to monitor the play clock. They should have noticed that the clock started too soon. They were not in position to begin the play, but the clock was running. Error Referee NOT coach. I agree, that there is too much confusion on our bench, but this one was not their fault. I'm just surprised that Lee did not protest. There are no time outs in overtime Such a shame. Best time in the world for your defense to show (thanks to Deshawn Graham at saftey) is when your offensive leader is injured. I appreciat. e what Lewis brings to the team, but this team obviously did their homework, and were ready for him. Too one dementional. Hope Hines uses this 2 weeks to recoupe. If he does'nt, then it's QB by committee.

I told you all that the clock was NEVER reset & the player were on the field telling the refs that...also Miles DID score & it is CLEAR AS DAY on the film. Both incidents have been reported to the MEAC offices although the outcome is the outcome...smh

Regarding the refs, I did like this group better than the previous one that had been handling our games but it sounds like they missed this one.

If they did blow the call, nothing will happen since it was not replayed on TV

They should have been yelling and screaming that the clock was still running(while the refs were huddling) before the penalty was even called. Hayes would have ran on the field pointing at the play clock, LOL. Its been done before by plenty of coaches.

Now a day in the MEAC if you run on that field you probably would have gotten a 15 yard pentaly for side line infraction. The MEAC offiicals are really something

The MEAC offiicals are really something jeff, you're exactly right! i watched the bcu vs. hampton game on tv and a "photograper" on bcu's sideline who just happened to have on some of bcu's colors got penalized "15 yards" by the refs for game interference when a play ended up going out of bounds where he was taking pictures. he wasn't even on the field of play, but bcu got penalized 15 yards. and the photographer wasn't even wearing anything specific with bcu or wildcats written on it, but bcu still got penalized. so your point is very well taken. no question a&t would've gotten penalized 15 yards had a coach ran on the field to complain about the play clock...

The MEAC offiicals are really something I meant during the huddle and the clock is still running. Not during a play. You can come on the field to call a timeout. whats the difference?
