5th year kat. Played Baseball. Walk on. Wanted to try something different so he walked on a few month's ago. Talk about a Diamond in the Rough..Sheeesh! The O'line needs to protect dude like he is their own personal Set of "Man Berries" if you get me. It takes a real tough kat to endure 300+lb linemen coming at you not mention years of preparation. Homey is little kat...BUT...This brutha has a sense of "Awareness" ...Trajectory-Time-lead-distance = QB/Receiver Chemistry. Plain and simple.. Hines hits them in the Chest 90% of the time..This kat is unbelievably accurate.....I don't know his total history but I've been told he played baseball. So think about it. All this time he has to take a small 4 inch sphere, Aim and plant it the glove of a team mate..Time Distance coordination..now you have a 13 inch Pig Skin to grip... Its like parking a cadillac in the desert compared to parking a Marble on the back of a spoon... Still ..with the Time Distance coordination... Definitely the shot in the arm the Offense needs . too bad he won't be there next year. We do have Webb and Lewis tho. All 3 in my opinion are good QB's. Morgan should have been ousted after the 1st couple of games and we wouldn't have wasted the majority of the season.Nothing personal against Morgan but he was out of position...should have been a receiver not a QB. The Offensive Line did ok, but they need to sweat BLOOD as if it was Their Mother back there quarter backing if they want to win the rest of the season and keep grass stains off of Hine's uniform.. Ima add this too. On 90%of Hines passes, the receiver gets the ball right in his chest or slidden in like a letter in mailbox..Smooth and seamless.. Get it in Aggies.. We still with you win or lose. Support means alot to the these Athletes. We can Criticize all we want but that's what brings change to the face of Stagnation. Poof! Change is here.

How could he have walked on a couple of months ago and none of the football insiders on this board never mentioned him??? Coach Lee never ever mentioned him. Former AD Brown never mentioned him. A couple of months ago would have been in August. Hines just started in the seventh game. So how did he just pop up or be discovered?? There must be an explanation.

...Diamond in the Rough.. Sometimes you don't know what you have cause you're putting so much time and energy trying to fine Tune-a-dead-fish. Sometimes, People perform better when "Call Of Duty" puts them out there to perform.. "Hines makes ketchup" look easy.. Thas what we're doing.. Catching Up. A lil late but better late than never.

Was told he came on in week 3. Also that he tried to walk on during the Fobbs era and they said he wasn't needed

He has technically been on the team since the summer. He just was not invited to camp because of the number of QB's already in camp. He came on the team immediately after summer camp and could not participate til about the 2nd or 3rd week because he had to be cleared before strapping up (Sickle Cell, physical, etc etc)

If what you are saying is true, and I don't doubt what you are saying for a minute. But it tells us something about the state of mind of the football people. Since he is a student, a physical would not be a problem. As a baseball player he should have had one file. Shouldn't he have also gone through the ncaa clearing house? Since sickle cell screening was mandated by the ncaa, that should be on file too. If he is under 40 years of age, he had that screening at birth. An investigative reporter is needed to ferret out information about this mystery man who suddenly pops up out of the blue as a QB. So far, he has been impressive. I wish him well and good health. Hopefully, he can maintain it (health) against the next three opponents. More physical teams.

The fact is that one of the coaches (who I shall not name) has been trying to get him on the field since the spring. There were some eligibility issues that prevented that. He was finally pronounced eligible about a month ago, I guess they just could not put a lot of time him until he was pronounced eligible. So it wasn't like he was an unknown.

Hines was able to join the team after the Hampton game (eligibity issues and A&T timing). He was intitially a DB and later moved to the scout team as a quarterback when Ricky Lewis started seeing action. Didnt start seeing legitimate practice action with the first time after homecoming when Morgan missed practice due to a senior meeting and quarterbacks were needed. The coaches were thoroughly impressed with his accuracy and decision making and named him the started for the Del State game.

Just about right, except he was given his shot after the homecoming loss when Morgan over-threw all those open recievers! By the time that senior meeting took place Morgan was already on scout team giving the defense a look for Del State

Well, it's good to know we have a decent qb now...what's this week 8? Oh well...nothing surprises me coming out of Greensboro anymore. Don't mean to sound negative but, that's been part of the issue all season with our coaches...putting our best players on the field and putting them in positions to be successful. So, I'm assuming they've figured it all out now. But, we are looking at BCU, FAMU and SCSU. Good luck Hines. As good as he may be, I don't think he's had enough live game action to be ready for our next 3 opponents. But, then again, it's the defense that stinks now though. I don't know...HELL!

Fact is we have known of Hines since he played QB in High School, heard first from one current coach who was recruiting him, verified through his father whom I met in the mens room at the game. Father is a good friend with one of the coaches, go wayback, A&T felt that Hines was too short coming out of High school to play QB. on this level!
