Hartly, DE - The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) is announcing the National Coach of the Year nominees for the 2009-10 basketball season. Just like the National Player of the Year Fan Poll, the Coach of the Year will be selected by the fans across the country.
HSRN developed the fan poll to get all HBCU alumni, students and fans involved with the national process and to also give everyone a chance to consistently keep up with the individual performances around the country. This web site and our broadcasts are designed to keep you abreast of all action around HBCU athletic competition. The fan poll for the National Coach of the Year will run today thru Monday, April 5. Fans across the country can cast their vote by visiting HSRN.Com.

Nominees are:
Division I – Women
Vanessa Inge – Bethune Cookman - earned MEAC Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats to 17-15 mark and 9-6 record in conference play, including an 8-1 record at home. In her second year at the helm, the Lady Wildcats tallied their highest win total since the 1987-88 season and secured their first winning season in eight years.
Donnita Rogers – Grambling State – is the 2010 SWAC Coach of the Year Rogers lead her team to a 10-8 conference record this season including a seven-game mid-season winning streak that helped her squad secure the #4 seed in the 2010 Farmers Insurance SWAC Tournament.
Pat Bibbs – N.C. A&T – guided the Lady Aggies to the 2009-10 MEAC regular season championship with a 14-2 conference mark. The Aggies also made HBCU major college history, becoming the first to make it to the “Sweet 16” of a Division I post season tournament, making it to the third round of the WNIT. They finished the season with a 23-11 record.
