Damn, that UNCC coach looks down right heartbroken.
Said she will never forget this loss. Womderful if that means they will agree to a home and home with us and try to get some revenge.

AGGIES ADVANCE TO ROUND 3 WITH WIN
CHARLOTTE – Once again North Carolina A&T managed to turn a visiting arena into an home court advantage for itself. And once again the raucous crowd wearing Blue and Gold helped the Aggies women’s basketball team make more history with a 79-70 win over Charlotte in the second round of the WNIT Sunday afternoon at Halton Arena.
Freshman Amber Calvin was 7-for-12 from the floor and finished with a game-high 24 points. Senior Ta’Wuana “Tweet” Cook added 19 points, and sophomore Crystal Murdaugh finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
“This win is great for our program. It’s great for our athletics department and it’s great for our university,’’ said Aggies head coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs. “We want to keep making history because if we keep making history that means we’re continuing to win. We’re not satisfied. We want to keep going.”
The Aggies (23-10) become the first NCAA Division I historically black college or university to win two postseason games. The Aggies will play Miami Thursday night at 7 from the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. Miami was a 77-64 winner over Florida on Sunday.
“We have a lot of confidence right now because we believe we can go out and play well against any level of competition,’’ said Murdaugh.
In the last two games the Aggies have knocked off teams from the ACC and Atlantic 10. They also have won 13 straight games over in-state competition, including the last two against Charlotte. On Sunday, the Aggies got off to another hot start with Cook and Calvin knocking down 3-pointers to propel the Aggies to a 35-32 lead at the half.
The Aggies took their biggest lead of the game with a 11:41 remaining. Cook banked in a 3-pointer from the top of the key to put the Aggies ahead 59-48. But unlike the Aggies win over Wake Forest on Thursday when they were never tested, the 49ers rallied to challenge the Aggies stronghold over the game.
An 8-0 49ers run ended when Kendra Holmes crossed her way over into the lane and found a wide open Shannon McCallum underneath the basket for a layup that cut the Aggies lead to 69-67 with 2:06 to play.
“We didn’t get rattled because we enjoy being the underdogs,’’ said Calvin. “We had no reason to lose our composure when they started coming back. We lost a big lead, but we didn’t let that have an effect on us.”
After a 30-second timeout, Calvin dribbled her way into the lane with the shot clock running down and connected on a jump shot that put the Aggies up four with 1:39 remaining. Junior Jaleesa Sams put the game away with a drive to the basket that resulted in a made layup and a foul. Sams’ free throw put the Aggies in front 76-70 with 35 seconds remaining.
“At this stage in postseason you’ve got to bring your all,’’ said Bibbs. “We’ve done a lot of things right in these last two games. We know we have to come out with a lot intensity and make other teams match our intensity. That’s how you win in the postseason.”
The Aggies are now one of only 16 teams still playing in the WNIT. The Aggies played at the BankUnited Center in 2005, and lost to the Hurricanes 104-65. This time, the Aggies will have momentum from two memorable wins coming with them along with the ability to turn a visiting arena into a Dawg Pound.
“It’s not tough playing on the road,’’ said Calvin, who along with her Aggie teammates have played 23 road games this season. “We’ve been doing it all year. But of course we’re going to need our crowd. They have to come with us.”

That is awesome. There is no reason for all our programs to be this great. We could be an awesome mid major in all sports. We are untapped. I bet UNCC will try to schedule us in every sport.
CONGRATS LADY AGGIES! They represent the university well.

Vivian Stringer took the oldest HBCU in America to the final four in 1982. This is still a major accomplishment for A&T though.

I'm still running on fumes & visine. And I can hardly unpack my suitcase before I have to turn around and pack it again. Let me give a few thoughts before I pass out.
> Did you see Tweet raise her arms to get the Aggies up right after crunch time? > Did you see Amber 'Aggie Gold' Calvin, 'bounce' after that big shot? > Did you see Sams, with an 'iced' knee poured in an 'And-1' we we needed it! > Gorham does her job well. She also hit her shots when they came. > Smalley is the heart and Soul! > Was it me, or did I see Smalley & Gorham ( I think) pin a shot against the back-board? How many blocks did we have...did it seem like we were giving their Bigs' hell, or was it just me? > Murdaugh is in a good groove. ==== To the Aggie Nation, the Pep band, the Champ Cheerleaders....smh Man y'all are out of control! I was running late & I picked up a 1st grader from a friend to show him how we roll. It blew his mind! He came away spelling A-G-G-I-E' ( from that chant). lol He has been 'bitten'. If someone starts a 'Defense' Chant, its picked up by the second time they say it. It is just mind blowing!
> I could have 'thumbed' a ride back to the 'boro, the Nation being so deep at UNC-C.
Aggies Blues, I agree, that was a nice arena.
> Man all I can say is that 'look at history before our eyes' The Seniors don't want to stop playing. They all crash the boards and dove on the floor. Hats off to the staff & trainers. I remember Calvin getting pushed into the UNC-C dancers and grimaced from the hit, two of her team-mates went and got her up. And later they laid flat a UNC-C forward or center, with a hard foul, like nothing happened. The sister have some E. Market Street in them!...lol
> Isn't Smalley so cool with her moves....the little fakes, the passes, using the glass, & The Wes Unseld full court pass to Tweet. smh
> We forget that Tweet is one of the greats already.
Great win.
