Man ESPNU could have been 'milked' for good, if the Maniacs & the Live-Wires were in full force. ESPNU would forever sold on A&T. They would continue to schedule us not only in FB & BB but other sports as well.
Props to the Live-wires for holding it down. Get to the gym early for the Women. And if you dont have signs, then bring your A&T Stuff. This game will turn the tide for the recruits and future students! Plus, it may prompt some Alums to give more.
Alumni, this is our chance to push the team to a Win over UMES, & get us back into the hunt.
Let's stay on the move!

Cap, I had a flash-back to the 'Free the Wilmington 10' days. sorry I got caught up.
Nah I dont know what is currently happening with them getting back their organizational status, and hence being able to show-forth at the games as before. The leadership missed some meetings/requirements I heard, and therefore they could not 'group cheer' at the games anymore. ======== Anyone have the current info?
Besides, when I first saw the schedule, I wondered why ESPNU did not do the WSSU@ A&T Game. (Maybe it's b/c WSSU is moving out of D-I). Now, this broadcast is hitting at a good time, and the team needs to roll. This is a nice boost.
(BTW, are monday games better attended than the Sat. games?) I have not looked.

Yeah, I am with Freeze on this one. That sounds like a classic case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
A&T should be happy anybody wants to come out and cheer for its athletic teams. Instead, it sounds like we are making it more difficult to be a fan.

I know this year has been very boring for BB; so boring some games I wish I had stayed at home.

I think it has something to do with the general gameday operations ... or lack thereof.
We don't currently have anyone who is taking over that responsibility with as much passion as Keith McCluney had. That probably is a result of not having a marketing director on staff ... which is shocking in itself.

Freeze, I know. It's weird, but that's what I was told. I went over there to them to find out. Now, the 'group cheer' vibe was new to me too! lol. I do see value of them being organized b/c they all have a leader, ( I saw the same thing @ NSU) and I'm sure that Dowdy does not want the school mis-represented. I'm only guessing. On the other hand are those 'painted guys' @ the FB games freestyling. It looks like they are.
sigh...IDK Brother.
BTW, the WSSU 'chew tobacco' chat would prob. not make the cut now-a -days (it was grandfathered it seems)...I would think.
I know this. If we win this game and the chips fall like they should, then we would be back in it!

Barring them using profanity or dropping their draws in public...there should be no reason why any student on campus should be prohibited from showing school spirit in any way that they, or the university finds appropriate. Hell they are kids...let them have fun and enjoy the environment (responsibly). Not only does it make their college days memorable and fun but it also helps our team and makes a Corbett a threatening environment for our foes. This makes no sense and I can only hope that you got some bad information.

Freeze, believe me, I'm with you on this. I wish one of the Live-wires would chime in on this topic about the rules.
True' I agree, Corbett is not the same. I dont want only a fashion show 'wine & cheese' vibe. Dont get me wrong, I love the fashion vibe too. But I remember brothers saying 'take him to the hoop Bird!" Or 'shut him down Joe!' It was ok to push the team like playing streetball in Moore Gym or intramurals....beyond the D-Fense or 'lets go Aggies' chant. I was shown this by brothers who balled on the blacktop/'high-rise', or knew the players. To me it should be noise in the gym like at a boxing match at times, along with the Group stuff if you are with your Boys. I dont mean overdo it but h#ll, no one should walk over us in Corbett and we be quiet...unless we are down 25 or something. I know it can backfire like Reggie Miller vs Spike Lee @ MSG, but so be it.
I know we need this game tonight & the Women will be shown also in 15 mins!

That probably is a result of not having a marketing director on staff ... which is shocking in itself. Totally agree. It's not the same vibe in there, thus the dramatic drop in attendance.

yeah, Corbett used to be the place to be, to have fun, to go wild, to go crazy, even when the men's team were losing. Now, it's dead. Someone took the fun out of the cheer and out of Corbett.

I can provide some insight on the Maniacs as I am/was one.
> Our president this year was someone that didn't stay on campus, he wasn't an undergrad, he's a grad student and it seemed his main objective was throwing parties.
>The reason we're suspended is because our president didn't attend some of the required COP meetings. Rules say if the president is unable to make it, he must send a proxy in his place, but must still provide documentation.
>Documentation wasn't turned in as required. Basically the problem was leadership.
>Since we're suspended we can't wear any shirts that has our name on it, but that doesn't prevent us from wearing gold. Don't know if we can do our cheers or not, I've heard two different things, but we should be able to.
>Since we've been suspended members of the Maniacs don't even attend the games anymore which is unexplainable, counting myself there's only been about 3 or 4 people at every game since our suspension.
If we're able to get off suspension, we will choose a better leader as we didn't have a hand in picking our president this year. We want things done right and we want Corbett back to how it was 2 and 3 years ago.
