Today is the day that we as Aggies should be extremely proud for the role our beloved institution played in advancing the struggle for Black liberation in this country. As I often tell my students, Feb. 1 was really not the most important day. The most important day was Feb. 2 when the Four's fellow Aggies began to amass in droves and continued the protest that soon echoed around the south and through other HBCU's. The movement up until that point failed to connect on a national level and there were few instances of direct action protest. Students crossed that psychological river of fear and went in to the places they had always been told not to go and did the things they had always been told not to do. This inspired the leadership of the movement (Dr. King, Abernathy, Shuttlesworth, Baker, and others) and moved the movement in directions that it had not yet crossed. The students at HBCU's did that and A&T led the way!!
So walk taller and stick your chest out a little more today as we celebrate 50 years of the true meaning of Aggie Pride!!!

It was a big turn-out for the ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. The govenor was also part of the ceremony and you know Jesse was their. It was a proud moment for A&T and Greensboro. When they cut the ribbon all you could hear from the crowd was a chorus of "Aggie-Pride". It made you feel good. On another note, the students were transported downtown on our brand-new aggie buses. Thats right, we got the wraped buses back. I heard that alums expressed so much concern about us giving up the buses that Martin decided to get them back. They look even better than they did the first time.

Thanks for the info Bigboy.
Kudos to the Aggie Club for being a financial partner in getting the busses wrapped!

I didn't get a chance to stop by the board yesterday due to all of the festivities and my hellaious travel arrangements to get back to Iowa.
However, yesterday was an amazing day to be an Aggie. I was privileged to have a special VIP tour of the museum yesterday and it was just extremely moving. I am excited to see what else we have to offer with new exhibits over time. Also I know that the staff of the museum have plans to dive into the study of civil rights also.
So I'm just too happy... along with the fact that Tibias Thorne (SGA E-Board, Moody Admin, 06-07) and Veronica Harrison (SGA E-Board, Bass Admin, 08-09) are apart of the museum staff. So its even better to know the Aggies who are making this possible.

Who or what entity is in control of our buses?? Basically, who has the keys?
