Porter doesn't need to touch the ball at all, except to rebound it... That is the funniest thing I've heard today!

Porter is a walking turnover naw jaybee, here's the funniest... I think Porter is far from the problem. Its the guards who are "turnover drama queens".

I stopped blaming the players three games ago; this is just plain leadership (or lack of). I don't know how much more I can take; it would feel better if the guys were agressive and loss. But they are not agressive enough for me.

Just got back from the game...yes its the guards for turnovers, how hard is it to get out of a trap. And Porter doesn't need to be in the game even for rebounds cause he can't hold on to the ball. Winston started cheering when Eaves put him back in!!

Yo this game hurt me also. But not as bad.
I just got back from the game. I agree, the trap should only work one time...two at most, before we counter. No one should stay confused.
Porter gives Coleman a rest. Without him we would get out rebounded even more every game. Think about that Hampton game ( I think)...they got so many 2nd shots it was a shame. We made the stops but could not rebound.
Now I know that we lost, but it seems that we are shooting better and going inside more. I have not seen the box score but a lot of shots were in and out & the reffs were rough on us. This game does not count in our standings and Howard beat BCU. We just need to beat Coppin & play well against Morgan. We are having close losses.
Lastly, A Powell L Smith & Whitter played tonight. He is giving them a chance to feel out the game. I know Eaves did not want to lose this game, but He gave the Freshmen some run before it too late/important. That first Winston run was against the 2nd unit for the most part. This weekend is the prize, a good night against Coppin & a tough Morgan team.

BTW I also saw Walter Mebane {I believe that's His name} ( former Hampton Women's Coach) on Collins' bench.

On the other hand, isnt the race really for 2nd place/ the 2nd seed? Look who is there now BCU & Howard @ 5-2. Dele is 4-2. We are just as good as them. SCSU/BCU & Hamp/Dele plays this Sat. I say just win this weekend ...for now. While they play one another. Injuries ect may play a part. And besides, no one wants to face a hot A&T in the Tourney in Winston. I saw Tywain Mckee burn the champs in Raleigh.

U guys r all idiots for the most part excuding pj..... maybe not idiots but its very interesting how quick u guys jump on and off band wagons... Clearly Porter is no where close to the problem for the aggies, he plays almost half the minutes as coleman andthere are many nights there stats are parrallel, he averages at least 1 charge per game, and only had 2 turnovers 2nite (The team had 25+, 17 in the first half)..... Dont get me wrong now, his game isnt the prettiest and his skills arent the best but it gets the job done on the defense and offensive end and he's by far one of the toughest players they have... just like me, u guys r big fans of highlights (Thomas Colemans dunks) but a 2 point dunk is the same as a 2 point ugly lay up (Porter) to the scoreboard... also if u were paying attention to the actual game u would have noticed that porter also battled in the paint on defense and gave up 0 points to his man the whole time he was on the floor.... Guard play and toughness is the issue...

Eaves needs to stop searching for a line up that jacks up 3's all day, coach a way to play coleman and porter together like most d1's, and stop pressing cause it doesnt work..... He shoulda been tailored the team through porter and coleman together at the 4 and 5.. That would also help a great deal defensively and with rebounding seeing as how they both block everything and we lead the conference in blocked shots, rarely does a big man score big numbers verse them and they both alter shots and cause problems in the paint for the opposing team as individuals on the court so y not play them together and set up an offense to make it work instead of 3's, 3's, and more 3's.....

Whats wrong with having two competent 6'9s...jumping in the path of an easy rebound for your teammates and turning the ball over as a result is IDIOTOTIC

onlyrealaggie(not),
It's more than James Porter or one other player. We're now in the middle of the season and there's been no improvement on the play of this team all together. These kids really have no fundamentals in protecting the basketball. Even the execution is lacking. Eaves pumped this team up of being better than last year. Their overall play doesn't even come close. The guard play is inconsistent and lack-luster. Unneccesary turnovers continue plague this team.
"COACHING"
This team does not show up to play a complete game of basketball.

onlyrealaggie, I understand that Porter has a role on the team and he was hustling out there and played good defense. HOWEVER, there was no reason for him to be handling the ball and making decisions at the top of the key. That is not his game and he should not have been in that position. That's an Eaves problem not a Porter problem.

At what point do you stop blaming the players? Not sure if you are directing this to me or not, but I'm not blaming the players. The players are only in the game and being put in certain positions by the Coach. Witter is a freshman and I don't recall seeing him score, but I did see where he didn't have a clue on how to break the press. I've already made my comments about what Porter was asked to do. Those are things that Eaves needs to address.
