Family, I wanted to start an thread for Ideas for the Basketball programs. It may lead to some being adopted.
This is not to bash the Admin. This should have the Aggie Spirit that says 'look I saw this somewhere else & it may work here'.
BDV is the leader among Fan sites. It already has inspired others amoung HBCU's
Now, Midnight Madness got A&T some press Corbett finally got a credit card swipe
(Disclaimer, some things may be in the works, or is being done already)
To further the hype, I would: > Pass out the Mens & Womens BB schedule to those exiting the Homecoming football game. > Display a video of Aggie BB during the Football warmups & in the rotation of commercials at Homecoming. (visually on the jumbotron) >Extend the Coach's show to MBB & WBB. (The student reporters will get better.) >Get Gametracker for the Men & Women >Really approach the halftime show with more creativity. > Is it too early to plan for a jumbotron in Corbett? >Get tickets to the boys club ect., for each game & give them a shoutout >Keep using the Dawg Pound & Livewires on literature >Touch up the trophy case >Never allow the issues of people with tickets in hand to be turned away again ( WSSU game). Improve. >Organize online sales.
We are on the dawn of a new era, and we want Corbett to really heat up!

I love how everybody told us for years that Midnight Madness was soooooo impossible ... but by all accounts last night's event was a great success.

I know Thrilla...that is what inspired me. We can get better...we can really roll! ============ BTW this is from Duke (for info purposes, not trying to be like them) ============ ESPN analyst Jason Williams will also be on site for Countdown to Craziness as part of ESPNU's coverage of the opening weekend of college basketball. The first Crazies Choice awards will also be presented live at Countdown to Craziness. The award winners will be determined exclusively via fan voting and Duke fans all over the world are encouraged to vote as many times as they would like. This year's awards will celebrate some of Duke's greatest players, games and memories over the past 30 years. The awards include: Best Duke Comeback, Greatest Duke Buzzer-Beater, Most Electric Cameron Chaos and Best Dynamic Duo. Fans may vote for the Crazies Choice Awards up until Oct. 16th. For more information on the Crazies Choice Awards and for fan polling, go to www.countdowntocraziness.com. "The Crazies Choice Awards are like the Oscars or VMA's," stated Duke junior guard Nolan Smith, "only Duke style and more prestigious." Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. in Krzyzewskiville with live music, games and face painting. The doors to Cameron Indoor Stadium open at 6:30 p.m. with the next hour and a half filled with on-court contests, exciting new videos and performances by DefMo, Duke University Improv and the Dancing Devils. In addition, Duke will unveil the 2009-10 men's basketball team poster and introduce the Duke women's basketball team in this span. The 2009-10 Duke Blue Devils will take the floor at 8:00 p.m., following a special video introduction and the announcement of two surprise guest coaches. The annual Blue-White scrimmage will tip at 8:15 p.m. Following the 20-minute scrimmage, the Blue Devils will show off their high-flying aerial talents with a dunk contest and Krzyzewski will address the crowd to close out the evening in Cameron. Activities will continue throughout the evening in K-ville with a postgame concert put on by Duke University Union featuring MTV Video Music Awards Breakthrough Video award winners Matt and Kim. What I like: Brian's audio webcast on the road. TenwebTV's broadcast of the home games.
===== What I would like to see: More sponsor give-aways TenwebTV to keep getting better. The Maniacs come back. The Individual Aggie Records displayed in the lobby ie All-time Blocks, scoring ect & the trophy case touched up. Football too. ==========

Get some of the Clicks best shots:
-blown up to put on the lobby walls, or -hang as banners in the lobby, or -hang banners on the 4 large columns inside Corbett.

With Football how about a wall of former players who played in any of the Pro leagues in their uniforms. ( I know that we have some pics in the student union) Stonewall Jackson, Bethea, Cornell Green, Mo Hicks ect. This will tie the young into the tradition.

Great Topic...I like the ideas that have been put out there so far. > I agree Halftime is getting a little dry... I wouldn't mind having having a Halftime entertainer's casting call during the beginning of the season (when our BB teams are out playing their payday games) if you make it, you're assigned a date to perform during a spot at halftime of the Men's Game... that would add some diversity to halftime > I would also like to see, the cheerleaders and blue reign out on the floor during timeouts when when music is being played... I paid my money, now gimme a show like the NBA LOL > A video scoreboard in corbett would be nice, but if we are building a new convocation center anytime soon, then i can wait for it...along with a better lighting system than those "classic" gymnasium lights that we have now... > Also to Tie-in with having more promotional giveaways and fan interaction during games. Why not utilize a Mobile Marketing/ Texting. The format could be used right now for football as a testing ground seeing as we have a jumbotron in Aggie Stadium. Daktronics, the folks who did our scoreboard offers this service some of the man things you can do are > Text to Screen: Instantly deliver SMS text messages to any display. Create an A&T Sports Trivia game or have a sponsored contest where you in an answer and a winner is chosen and Transmit special messages from fans > Vote to Screen: having fans text a choice to a number to Conduct interactive fan voting polls. Vote for song selections to be played at the end of a quarter (or half in basketball) , plays of the game etc... and display the results on the screen. Something like this: -or- > Pics to screen: Where Aggie Fans can send photos from any mobile device to be chosen to make the Screen...Call it Aggie FanPics or Aggie FanCam just a few suggestions to get the fans more involved in the experience OH BTW: I wouldnt mind seeing something like This in the home of aggie basketball one day ...im just sayin'

AggieBlues, that idea has been on my mind for the past year. I work for ATT wireless, its called short codes. Text a response to a 5-6 digit #. It's a hot marketing tool and we should try to take advantage of it. There are so many things you could do, trivia contest, vote for best plays, get clips of the MBG as ringtones or screensavers/wallpaper, etc. It could turn into a really fun thing to keep fans interacted.

I'd like to see us revamp our athletic website or at least add a score ticker to the top.
It would also be so cool if the school sold player jerseys. Sparrow, Cook, Bland, Binion, Taylor-James, Calvin, etc.
