.. To accurately record just how big of an L we took last night during halftime.
Granted, I only got a C-minus in the one semester I took beginning piano at 'T. However, I know enough about music to realize that we got destroyed by NSU.
That was easily the most entertaining halftime show I have seen in about a decade. The Michael Jackson skits, music and dancing were all on point.
This might be the first time that an opposing band has come to Aggie Stadium and gotten a standing ovation for the entire home side.
When it was our turn, I think the band realized that their program couldn't match up and just tried to go ahead and get it over with. I was almost like when Em ripped that freestyle at the end of 8 Mile and Poppa Doc was just left speechless.
I don't know what happened over the offseason, but this is not the same Machine we witnessed last year.

Which is why our band hasn't done it. Like i said with Winston the only reason they won halftime was because it was MJ. Idk it may be me but I'm tired of hearing an seeing the same performance and its only week 2. They're performance was basically the same as gramblings during the meac swac challenge Wssu during our first game, its ridiculous but hey its just me.

Dude, you are the ultimate homer.
Not that that's really a bad thing. We all need to support the home team through thick and thin.
But if you honestly think A&T had a better show than NSU last night, I am definitely going to have to institute a drug testing policy on this message board.

Everyone knows how I feel about everything that is or about A&T. I love our guys and ladies but let's be honest here. Any way you spin it, we got blasted last night.

Norfolk State...I can very well see that. They have a great band program and has had one for years. I'm just going to be honest here guys, the lack of funding in our band program is really starting to show. It will become more and more evident as time passes unless something changes quickly. I don't see it.

Some people up here dont want to hear the funding agrument, yet every band that they want to compare us to has a larger band budget than we do, sometimes its almost twice as large. They want to say the Machine has never been about scholarships. Well folk its a new day and you have to recruit for the good to exceptional band students just like you have to recruit for the best athletes. I, for one, am increasing my monetary GIVING to the band program this year! There are some things that I like about the band Ive so far this year and there are some things that they need to improve on. Lets correct them and get ready to take down Hampton University this Saturday, Band and Football!

I agree, increasing the budget, and most mportantly, the proper use and investment of it would make a huge difference.

Having a large band budget is not a priority in my opinion.

Large and adequate are two different things!
For the size band most alumuni up here want, the budget just wont cut it. Our(A&T) former Provost, DR. Carolyn Myers, is now the President at NSU and she has put a lot of money into the band this year because she wants the Legion to be larger and the best band period. She understands what it takes to get there. We saw what that type of support can do this past weekend.
And for the record, a lot of my students at NSU wanted to come to A&T but chose Norfolk because they offered a full ride (band scholarship) as oppose to a $1,000 scholarship(band) from A&T and they are majoring in Enginering and they are from the state of NC. Just something to think about.

Well...I wasn't impressed totally at the MJ show Saturday because I've seen a very similar one from NSU a few years back. I believe it was at Battlefest. The Hot Ice show was exactly the same. Only difference was up at NSU, they came out of limo's...I kno i'm not crazy cuz this was before the white gurl, *drool*, arrival

I personally didn't care for Norfolk's halftime show. I mean come on, really, what made their halftime show so great? Because they did the whole dance from the Triller video?! How many times have we seen that? BTW: Didn't T do a MJ halftime show last season?! & a Thriller show in Charleston 2 years ago?! Why should they do another one this year?
(BTW: If A&T IS planning on doing an MJ show for homecoming, they better go ALL OUT!!! Don't ya'll come out there with no half a$$ Thriller show. Ya'll should to do the ENTIRE MOVIE!!!)
Now don't get me wrong Norfolk's show was good but I feel like any band doing an entire MJ halftime show this year is a cop-out. Hell just play PYT & keep it movin! We all loved MJ, I was a HUGE MJ fan as a child, but come on! Bands are really starting to OD on these tributes, and its only week 2!
