www.news-record.com/content/2009/05/23/article/prep_notes_shelbys_raper_performs_on_future_stage_at_atPrep notes: Shelby's Raper performs on future stage at A&T Saturday, May 23, 2009GREENSBORO -- Larry Raper has celebrated at N.C. A&T's Aggie Stadium before. He's hoping to have plenty more reason to do so this fall. "We're gonna change a lot of things around here, starting with a winning record," the Aggie-bound Shelby football star said Saturday at the NCHSAA 2-A track and field state championships at A&T's Irwin Belk Track. "I feel at home here." Raper committed to Clemson as a junior but changed his mind after head coach Tommy Bowden resigned mid-season. That eventually led him to the Aggies, in whose stadium Shelby won the state track and field title last year. Raper said the A&T coaching staff has said they plan on using him like Florida used Percy Harvin -- a wide receiver/running back/touchdown waiting to happen. Raper, whose cousin Travis Padgett ran for the last U.S. Olympic 4x100 team, is also one of the state's top track stars. He reminded people why on Saturday, taking second in the 100 meter dash (11.17), fourth in the 200 (22.61) and anchoring Shelby's winning 4x200 relay team, which beat Greene Central by two hundredths of a second. Raper plans on running for the Aggies, as well."This is going to be my hometown for a couple years," Raper said. "I wanted to come down and put on a show for them."

The best part of the article is that he already sounds proud to be an Aggie -- unlike that loser primadonna CJ Penny.
