Sooooooo I been on alumni status for about a week now and I'm still not quite sure what I'm supposed to do now ... any suggestions? (this should be funny)
I'm really wondering when can I start b*tchin about how young Aggies don't appreciate what they have (I was in the first class NOT to live in old Scotts though)

Start by not calling Scott Hall, "old Scotts". Remember you can't complain until you write a check payable to the University, Alumni Assoc., or Aggie Club.
Congratulations!!
BTW, you're responsible the BDF tailgate spot this year, thanks.

1) Get a job and decorate your office space with NCA&T stuff. *See entry #9 if you don't live in NC. 2) Write a check to the University. 3) Join an Alumni Association. 4) Join the Aggie Club. 5) Get a license plate holder that says "NCA&T Alum." 6) Designate a room in your home for NCA&T stuff - your degree, pennants, blanket, bumper stickers, statue of the A&T 4, pens, football, football helmet, T-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, etc. 7) Complain about the status of A&T Sports. 8) Toot your car horn whenever you pass by someone that has A&T stuff on their car - only if you don't live in NC. 9) Wear A&T Alumni gear whenever you travel. Be prepared to answer questions like, "What school is that?" "Where is it located?" 10) Write a check to the University. CONGRATULATIONS, AGGIE MIKE!

A lot of 90Aggie's ideas sound FINANCIAL lol! I'm broke as hell right now, graduation checks in recession don't bank like they did in past years but I'm down for 1 and 5 through 9 but I'm gonna be writing checks for the next 10-20 to somebody for going to this University already! Gimme 2-3 years to get my money together and THEN I'll sign the dotted line for T

If you can buy a license plate holder, you can write a check to the University for the same amount. Besides, don't you want your name in the Chancellor's Report?

I got coworkers in Raleigh that dont know A&T. I just call it closed minded.
Anyways, my advice is 1)Dont forget to rep your school when your doing well. We get enough bad publicity, so let people know someone with some sense actually went to A&T. 2)Dont feel bad when ALL alumn are not as excited about being an A&T grad as you are or care what athletics is doing. Some act like they dont give a damn about nothing at A&T currently. You ask them if they going to homecoming and they will say "when is it?". 3) Your #1 location for A&T news and connecting to A&T after leaving Greensboro will be this message board, LOL. 4) You will always hate the "Dirty Bergundy Bird". 5) Woman are harder to get all of a sudden. 6) Start to lose your college vocabulary, it sounds strange to real world people. "The Cafe", "The Strip", etc, etc LOL 7) Follow up "Aggie Pride" with "No I didn't got to Texas A&M".

Congrats! I would add: > Get used to people saying AT&T > When asked the ? "who is your team? just say which league? (Because most believe that you will say Carolina). > Study up on: > how we are the #1 producer of ; engineers ... Accred'td B School ect... > Famous Grads: Jesse Jackson Sr (his lab was in the streets of the world, his students are Barak at el, & his Mentor,MLK, won a Nobel prize...not for economics, but for peace) Ron McNair & countless others who steer the youth to HBCU's. >Know that You can walk in All Worlds > Know that this is THE Agr. & Tech ST. Univ. for NC. Va has VA tech & Ga has GA tech.

Haha lots of good ideas, i might be able to slide the university a $10 from this graduation money (coulda went a lot further at bares but oh well)
I'll just hit a couple of points - I've been recruiting for A&T harder than ever, actually went back to my HS and played us up on Tuesday - Older alums hate NCCU but I feel like recent alums feel more of a rivalry with WSSU - I've got AT&T in interviews already... - Jesse didn't graduate but I'll still rep LOL - I've already seen my A&T vernacular fall on deaf ears HAHA - Wearing alumni gear is a lightning rod for attention (good or bad) - and just to be kind of biased, I'll use my insiders at the N&R and Register for quoted info on the university (anybody else here know who our next chancellor will be??? i do lol)

Mike, are you pursuing a career in the print journalism side or the broadcast side?

Remember every dollar counts and don't do as many young alums do and not give back. Their reason or excuse is that I was not treated well. After a few years away from A&T and have had time to mellow a bit, usually they find that most of those folks were not all that bad. Remember the donation is not for them, but for the students who are still here, those that will come next year and the ones that will come ten years from now. It solidifies your kinship with the university and the friends that you made along the way. Congrtulations on your wonderful achievement.
