www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHq8DsodQ7gHe wants to raise enough money to keep at least 45 of his top players here over the summer to prepare for the 2009 season. Let's step up to the challenge and make it happen.

This is the point where I would normally unveil an BDF online donation page - similar to the 2007 recruiting fundraiser, but I am going to let the university and athletics department take the lead this time around.
I'm not sure if they just want supporters to mail them a check or what. But now they need to make a formal fundraising pitch about this summer school effort and also make the donation process easier if they are serious about getting fan and alumni dollars before the summer arrives.
I think a lot of us are willing to help; we just need some instruction on how.

How about BlueDeath start a ADOPT A PLAYER For Summer School Fund. This could be done if the right people get behind it. It could be something like ( Enter the BLUE Haze Adopt a Player for Summer School) It could be done with different levels of given. 1 $50.00 or Less a sign Team Picture and Football. 2. $100-500 A Jersey of the Player you Adopt. 3.$ 500-1,000 Free tailgate and Tix for two years. Just putting something out there for people to think about.......

I hope that the other coaches at A&T take notice of what Coach Lee is doing and start their push for donations for their teams. In order to not clutter the airwaves for donations, it should be coordinated. I had a heated the debate with a friend that Coach Eaves should have done what Lee is doing, appeal to the whole alumni. I understand that Eaves had approached certain people but not the alumni as a whole.

Lee has not yet approached the alumni as a whole either.
This video came from the Signing Day Party which was attended primarily by members of the Greensboro Aggie Club.
I understand that he is relaying the same message to other Aggie Club groups, but If I wouldn't have posted this video on this site a lot of people still would not have known about the call for dollars.
The school still needs to create a formal message to announce this fundraising effort to the general fanbase. That is, if they are truly serious about raising the money before the summer arrives. Gotta have some type of official message about this on ncataggies.com.

And the fact that u get a jersey makes it even more sweet

How much does Summer School cost for each session? Will the players' tuition all be designated as in-state or will some be out of state?
I like the Adopt-A-Player approach.
We use that approach to send our youth to summer camp at church. It works. We don't do partials. If it takes two or three people to sponsor a kid then that kid is sponsored by multiple people. But once we know the cost, it makes sure that a specific kid gets in.
Thrilla, I still think you can do the BDF fundraiser by just saying BDF will commit to adopt say 10 in-state players for example. That automatically sets our goal at 10 times whatever the cost is for both sessions.
To enhance that concept, if we were allowed as BDF to choose who we sponsored, we could post the list of players 'adopted' by BlueDeathValley.com and have a vested interest in them throughout the season.

At what point does that run afoul of the NCAA is my only question.

At what point does that run afoul of the NCAA is my only question. That's for Wheels to answer. I just know the approach can work. Maybe you have to modify it but it works.

I like the Adopt concept. Let's get Dooms' question(s) answered and move forward.
