A lot of the kids were recruited by both schools. The Dudley kids and the QB out of Baltimore were recruited by both schools. We were recruiting the QB out Atlanta as well because we were also trying to get the running back from the same high school. Now, those lineman out of DC I think were probably Morgan bond until we got Lee and Berry.

I agree Thrilla I don't think its fair. But we really need to find out the facts on both sides. I am willing to bet if you spoke to Alonzo Lee he will tell you a different story. For example lets say these kids was heavily recruited by both schools then they found out Alonzo is now the HC for A&T the very guy they built a working relationship with. That may have been the deciding factor in deciding to attend A&T. Can you blame Alonza Lee? But I only speculating one scenario. He claims he's a man of GOD I hope for his sake he does not weep what is sow. This type of stuff has been going on for YEARS! It is not going to stop anytime soon. Can you blame Alonza Lee? NO!!! NEXT... boy YOU Aggie fans are a TRIP!!!!!

Small did in fact bring in a few recruits that were being recruited when he and Lee were at Hampton. I forget their names but he brought in a DL from Savanah GA. and a DB transfer from Clemson. They were both suppose to go to Hampton. The DB was the kid that was shot and killed about a year ago. They might not have brought many with them but they did bring a few.

That's why I tell kids in recruiting don't come to my school because of me. In other words don't come because of a coach. Pick the school that best suit your needs. Key word (SCHOOL) not coach. Because coaches come and go. A recruiting coach should only be information for you. You are picking a school not a coach. Because you could sign today and that coach be fired or leave for another school tomorrow. in theory, you're 100% correct coach. but in reality, that's not how it works. the relationships recruits develop with coaches who recruit them are a major reason they choose a university. not the only reason, but a major reason. some recruits choose a school because they always wanted to go there or for whatever reason, they fell in love with the school. but i think most recruits are heavily persuaded by the coaches who they've forged the most chemistry with during the recruiting process. i don't know this to be factual, but i think lee knew long before it was officially announced that he would be hired by a&t. i think he told his recruits that if he gets the a&t job, he'd want them to join him in greensboro. and if that's how it went down, in my opinion, that's unethical on several fronts. first, he's using one school's finances and payroll while actually working for another. secondly, obviously he did not inform his boss (hill-eley) of what he was doing and completely blindsided him on signing day. man, that's cold. so there you have it, morgan state paid his recruiting expenses and also his salary while he essentially recruited and worked for a&t. maybe it is customary for coaches to conduct themselves that way while transitioning jobs, but that doesn't make it right. now if the decision to follow lee to a&t was solely made by the recruit "without lee's or berry's influence", then i see nothing wrong with that. but somehow i don't think it went down that way. i mean, morgan state only signed 9 recruits! i'm sorry, but that doesn't pass the smell test...

So what if the kids made the choice? All of this unethical talk is foolishness. The fact is we offered jobs essentially to both coordinators from another school. What do you expect? The same happened in reverse when they left A&T. Geesh!

It's probably true that athletes should make their decisions based on the school and not the coaches, however, I agree with Trues' point because interpersonal relationships are very strong, particularly, with teenagers.

When and where was Harper shot and killed? Any details? Charles Harper, a reserve defensive back that lettered at Clemson in 2002, was killed outside a Tallahassee, Fla. nightclub early Saturday morning. Jimmy Ray Hair Jr., 26, of Tallahassee is being charged with his murder. He got killed in 2007

Maxell, would you feel that way right now if you were a Morgan State fan? I am not a Morgan State fan. But I did feel the same way when Hayes went to Central and players followed. I was mad about it but it wasn't unethical. Like it or not kids make decisions based on the relationships formed with coaches. I found it interesting that Morgan ended up with a number of recruits from N.C. when Lee and Berry left but that's what happens. It is what it is. If Morgan only ended up with nine recruits, that's on them. Even Fobbs signed 15 in his first class which included Andre Thornton.

I would be interested to know when Berry and Lee were both officially off the Morgan State payroll.
Lee knew he was going to get the A&T job way before his name first came up in the rumor mill, so I am curious why Hill-Elley still let him go out on Morgan State recruiting trips. Same with Berry.
How long was Berry working as a "volunteer" recruiter for A&T? How can you be a volunteer recruiter for school B when you are still employed by school A? That sounds kind of unethical.
Maybe Berry had already resigned or was let go by Morgan State prior to him serving as a "volunteer" recruiter for A&T. Who knows.
I would like to see a time line of how that all went down.
