I heard the Aggies did really good, any word on Central and FSU? Cute uniform GOLDEN but hmmm.. .yall seriously are transforming in to the Southern Dancing Dolls....watch it ladies! The routines are original, but the "look" of the team is really close to biting off the style of the Dancing Dolls! ;D ...Of course who doesn't want to imitate the best!!!, we used to seeing lenty of teams swagger jack us! LOL

Just stopped through to say good job Golden Delight for a great performance at the Honda Battle of the Bands from Coach Borders with Blue Reign Dance team. As I was in attendance, I noticed that we were the only school who's auxillary were running on and off the entire field during pretty much the whole performance and I know that takes a lot of energy. Kudos to you all and your staff. Please continue not to let negativity break your Aggie Pride as all Aggies are here for the same reason and thats to show the people what Aggie Pride is all about while staying true to your own excellence in performing. Be blessed always!

Good job Golden Delight at the Honda Battle of the Bands. The only thing you may want to work on is your energy a little bc Jackson State auxillary were really working it and looked good doing it with facials the whole time. But other than that I think A&T represented better than the movie Drumline, and pay no attention to the ohs and ahs of the crowd during your dance performance where one of your girls was on top of one of the drum majors. It was very tasteful, the southern crowd is just not used to that type of scene.

U know getuprams isn't the first to make that comment. Now I wouldn't say the dancing style is similar but I have to admit the uniform choices are getting a little close. The dolls have some very sexy outfits and GD is going sexier which isn't bad cus their outfits in the past looked kinda high schoolish. Now I don't think they are biting them cus I mean both schools are blue and gold so people are going to see similarities.

That's the thing...the school colors are the same, so its natural that some color schemes might be the same.
To be honest, I dont think there is a group in the country with as much crap as golden delight. 'Crap' meaning uniforms, accessories, etc. They change uniforms 2-3 times a game, change up hairstyles, change up flags based on the mood/genre of the music. I think you can chalk that up to Dr Ruff placing a much greater emphasis on auxilliary than Dr Hodge did before him. Auxilliary was his area of focus back when he was ASSISTANT band director, back when he was still MISTER Ruff (not Dr).
There are things that GD does that the DD wouldnt dream of doing. The DDs perform for about 45 seconds or so each halftime show. GD is incorporated into the whole show from intro to the drill, dance feature, slow tune, dance, and finale, not just look cute on the sidelines for most of the show.
I love the DDs....they are one of the best in the country, but really the only things they have in common with GD are that they dance, sometimes wear blue and/or gold, and are women.

True...the year GD came with the white and gold uniforms (that coincidentally had matching umbrellas) everybody swore that they had swagger jacked the dolls I say no blood, no foul...I mean if GD is going to be accused of being like anyone i would rather it be the dolls than our Maroon and Grey Cousins @ central . . . . . . . When Keeping It Real Goes TRAGICALLY Wrong! ;D

Thank you for all the support and well wishes! The girls were outside in below freezing weather to prepare for this event. They showed class all weekend (despite other squads lol) and represented you all well! As far as the uniforms go, there are a number of influences and the funny thing is none of them are other dance teams. We look in odd places (i.e. skaters, ballroom dancers, etc) for inspiration and the staff/captains brainstorm and "mess with it" from there. The similarities to other teams may rest in color choices and sex appeal however we research quite often to try and make sure no one has something like ours. LOL But you are right, we DEFINITELY dont want to look ANYTHING like CENTRAL or WINSTON for that matter. In fact, if you look carefully, you will notice a lot of transition in the Eagles auxiliary that are much like the Delights. (Note: As of 2007, they became a combined Auxiilary..both twirling and dancing) And tore it up at honda (and that is not a good thing) Anyhow, AGGIE PRIDE and thanks. There may be a few GD performances locally over the semester. Will keep you all posted. BRANDMASTA.....no teasers with the pics! Give em!

Will Golden Delight be available to perform at this event?
