So then why are we waiting until tomorrow morning to even announce a press conference ... about 24 hours after the N&R article ran on Thursday? If the press conference was going to be held on Friday all along how come nobody knew anything about it when I called the University Relations department on Tuesday?
I know I might look kinda slow, but I do have some common sense.

Thrill, Common sense would make sense. That is why we are not in Admin. You can only look good if you do what and when you want to. To lleh w/ the AD or any recruit or parent. Then if it doesn't work it was your problem and you put them a no win situation,: Sound famliar.

Why does the BOT have to review personnel contracts? If we did that where I work nothing would ever get done. HR, Legal and a VP (Vice Chancellor) should be all that is needed. That's why 'little to nothing' has been done to announce our new coach. Many other schools have already announced their coaching changes, some before December but we have to wait for our BOT because they think we, as individuals, can't make good decisions even though the school says it hires great talents. Sounds like a 'share-croping' mentality to me and we are suppose to be an institution of HIGHER LEARNING. It sounds like we paying the AD to do a job and then re-paying the BOT to do the same job? Needless to say, our whole football episode over the past 6 years has been embarrassing to the university, its fans and its alumni.

A&T will offically name Alonzo Lee as Head Coach today. Recruits will be on campus this weekend. www.news-record.com/content/2009/01/16/article/wait_is_over_for_aggies_leeWait is over for Aggies, LeeFriday, January 16 ( updated 5:32 am) By Robert Bell Staff Writer GREENSBORO -- Morgan State defensive coordinator Alonzo Lee said Thursday night he will become N.C. A&T's next football coach and that an official announcement would come from the university today. Reached by phone at his home in Washington, D.C., Lee said he planned to drive to Greensboro this morning for an afternoon news conference at the school. "We're there and I'm excited to get going," Lee said. "I'm ready to get moving on things." Lee spoke a few hours after A&T's board of trustees approved his contract during a conference call. Athletics director Wheeler Brown could not be reached for comment Thursday night, but sources at A&T said the board quickly approved Lee's contract. Lee said he would wait until today's news conference before talking at length about his new job and his coaching staff. He did say he would keep interim coach George Ragsdale, a finalist for the permanent job, as an assistant. "I want to keep him right by my side," Lee said. "I need him right by my side." The announcement of Lee's hiring comes at a crucial time for a program that has gone 3-34 in the last three seasons. Nearly two dozen football recruits are scheduled to arrive on the A&T campus today for a weekend visit. Lee said Thursday night he would meet with those recruits. "I know we're already a little behind the eight-ball, so we've got to hit the ground running this week," he said. "We'll meet with the players and let them know we're going to do things right and that A&T is the place for them." Contact Robert Bell at 373-7055 or robert.bell @news-record.com

At least now we have a HC and most of the staff. As I have heard the staff is Lee, Berry, Ragsdale, Odoms, Oliver, and ? Anyone know the other coaches.

Nevermind, I've just learned that Berry is indeed coming back here to join Lee. I'm not sure if it will be in the capacity of offensive coordinator or just OL coach.

Reportedly, we are also bringing in a QB coach from FAMU.
I don't have a name yet.

This Guy? Looks like he has Greensboro and North Carolina ties. Photo: FAMU Quarterbacks/Wide Receivers Coach, Steven Jerry Coach Steven Jerry has served as the running backs coach at the College of William and Mary in the Colonial Athletic Conference for the past four years. He produced an all-conference tailback in each of his three previous seasons as well as serving as the Tribe’s recruiting contact in northwest Virginia, as well as in the western part of Maryland and southern New Jersey. Elijah Brooks was a prolific performer under Jerry’s tutelage, as he ran for 1,906 yards and 17 touchdowns in his two seasons (2005-06) as the starting tailback. He earned all-conference recognition after both his junior and senior seasons. Jerry’s first season at W&M was 2004 and his corps of backs proved to be one of the most successful and steady units on the A-10 Championship team, as his tailbacks combined for 1,655 rushing yards and 455 receiving yards on the season. Jerry’s standout on that unit was rugged then-senior Jon Smith, who earned Third-Team All-Atlantic 10 honors by rushing for 15 touchdowns and 784 yards. Jerry came to William and Mary from Virginia State, where he served as quarterbacks coach. While at Virginia State, Jerry also was the head coach of a pair of arena football2 squads, the Greensboro Prowlers and the Roanoke Steam. Jerry also served as the tight ends coach at East Tennessee State for the 2001 season. Jerry was no stranger to the Williamsburg campus, as he spent the 2000 season at the College serving as the program’s offensive assistant. From January 1997 until early in 2000, Jerry served in multiple capacities at Central Florida, working as a tight ends coach, an assistant strength and conditioning coach and an assistant track and field coach. He also has collegiate experience at Sienna College and his alma mater, the University of North Carolina. Jerry was an assistant strength coach at UNC in the summer of 1994. He played both quarterback and wide receiver for the Tar Heel program.
A 1994 graduate of University of North Carolina, Jerry received bachelor’s degrees in both sociology and communications while playing football for the Tar Heels. He currently resides in Richmond with his wife, Renee’, and the couple has two sons, Christopher (9) and Jonathan (7). Jerry is a native Floridian from Orlando, Florida.

If it is Steven Jerry then that's Lee's new OC. He's Pulley's coach and worked the box most of the time last year..
