My bro called me just now and he said it was as good as being there. The camera angles, the slo-mo, the uninterrupted stream and the picture quality were excellent and the play by play wasn't either. He said you could have easily been watching this on digital cable and not know the difference.

Digital cable? I wouldn't go that far. I think the webcast is cool for the purpose it serves. The picture isn't as clear as I'd like it to be, but it works. I understand the feed comes from the scoreboard, but when you are at home and want to see the field, the graphics is annoying. The commentating, angles, and the connection were great otherwise.

How did the team of Johnson and Hooker perform?

The graphics went on as plays were going on. If they expect people to pay, that needs to stop, yesterday.
The announcers were mispronouncing names like crazy. The worst was after giving Donald Dorsey's moms a shout out, they spent the next two and a half quarters refering to him as Dorsey Donald. Fluellen was Flewlen until the fourth quarter. Tim Bess somehow made a tackle on defense even though he didn't play.
The video was very good (when we didn't have to look at a capital D followed by a fence or a "make some noise" graphic while the play was half over). I watched it from both windows media and the other one. Windows media was much better visually and the other one was better as far as sound.
The announcers need a pronunciation guide and they need to work on being quicker to locate the players' names.
But all in all, it's a wonderful alternative to listening on the net. Just work out the little kinks listed above and it would actually be like watching on digital cable.

An easy fix to that problem would just be to stop showing the scoreboard graphics in the stadium.
I'm sure the fans could really care less about seeing a "D- Fence" sign. Hell, I was busy watching the action on the field so I didn't even notice what was on the scoreboard.

technically is was good. It started dragging for a minute in the 4th when the game was on the line. I guess the visitors got higher on that goal line stand and booged it down a little.
The D-fense is annoying, but I guess since I'm not paying to see the game I cant complian.
I wasn't paying attention to pronuctiations, but please please please let me know how much time is on the clock. They didn't start doing that until the last few minutes. Half came to an end and I was like "huh" they never even mention time.
Definitely NOT Digital cable, but a good job.

Thrilla I saw most of the webcast. It is ok over all. The mics get distorted during a moment of excitement...but that is ok. Also they may not realize that the mic was "hot" during the beginning of the webcast, as some personal conversation was heard! If one checks out FAMU's next webcast, theirs looks like almost the next generation. It is not high def. but it has pixels. I did not get a chance to hear their audio. I think that we need more bandwidth. Pound for pound, I'm glad to have it. / On a side note I wonder why we dont have our broadcast majors doing some the games for the women and baseball. Around here Duke & UNC students broadcast those joints...even if it only audio.

One thing that could enhance it is score, time graphics at the bottom of the screen.

I thought it was crappy for the FAMU game. I actually stop looking at it and watched the rest of the game on FAMCAST. FAMCAST was very good! It was clear and they had even brought their own broadcasters, 2 in the booth and 1 down on the field. They would go to the guy down on the field on ocassions, like the FBS and NFL does. It's sad when somebody comes to your house with their own equipment and do a much better job than you do. If this is our experimental year before we actually start charging next year, then we've got a lot of work to do?

Hey JAYBEE, that is exactly what I did as well, and they showed the Halftime from Beginning to End FAMCAST was very good, NCA&TSU webcast still needs some work, but thank god they're at least trying, nobody else in THE MEAC is even attempting HAMPTON attempting to charge you, and it's not even working properly enough to even erronously bill you ;D ;D

First game I watched via webcast. Overall, the FAMU game was fair. A graphic after each play became irritating. Picture quality was fair. In comparsion to previous posts, appears picture quality has gotten worse. The multiple camera angles was a positive. Announcers were good.
IMO, overall broadcast quality will have to improve to generate any significant revenue.
